Hi, My GP told me that unless you are dying your hair every day, the chemicals that would come through to bubs are trace amounts, if any at all. He did say to try and stay in awell ventilated area to make it even safer- I always did mine at home, then sat outside till it set.
With all the other chemicals and pollution we are exposed to every day, I don't think a hair dye will hurt- and it will make you feel like a million bucks :D
I was getting my hair coloured from early on and asked this same question. I was getting my roots done though so was a strong peroxide smell that worried me. The only thing Dr said was that the odour may make me feel sick so just stay in a well ventilated area and I breathed into a tissue if it got bad. But I never had any reactions. I think its important to just not do it too often.
THere are lots of threads on this already as I think a lot of us colour our hair.
I was told that foils are a better option as the chemical isnt sitting on your scalp. If you get an all over colour the chemicals are sitting on the scalp and there isnt alot of research into the damage it causes.
Keep in mind as well that your skin/scalp and nose will be alot more sensitive now you are pregnant and you should be in a really well ventilated area and if it starts to hurt tell the hairdresser straight away.
oh my.. another thread about hair colour in pregancy.
u will be fine.. the hormones in ur body may play havic on the colour that turns out but u will be fine. Try and steer clear of bleach (this just made me dizzy when i was preg).
HTh
PS.. yes foils are better than an all over colour but that goes for everyone not just when ur pregnant!
