What was your Labour length if VBAC?

I had an emergency CS with DS #1 and want to try VBAC for #2 due in Feb. Just wondering what your experiences were with labour lenghths with VBAC after CS?

Is it likely to be a long labour (like a first labour) or faster (as typical with a second labour). As I didn't do into labour at all, not sure what to expect?

Generally it will depend on how much you laboured with your first baby.

For example, if you laboured up to full or almost full dilation, your VBAC would be similar to that of any other woman having her second baby (generally you'd expect your labour to be shorter).

However if you didn't labour at all, or only laboured to a few cms dilated, your VBAC will probably be more like a first labour.

My VBAC was 3 1/2 hours...!! No labour with first, he was breech c/s. I did have waters broken with Oskar, but the ob said that would only have made a difference of approx. 1/2 hour anyway. So, for me... I would say QUICK. I transitioned between stages quickly. I do attribute a lot of this to doing hypnobirthing which I would recommend if you are starting to feel nervous... well worth the money and definitely helps with that feeling. Hello :) I'm new here and just wanted to share my experience. I had a successful VBAC in a Private Hospital in WA in January 2008 :dance: and also had NO labour with my first birth. My pre-labour started on Sunday afternoon and my waters broke on Tuesday morning...I headed to hospital Tuesday night and didn't have DS2 till Wednesday night PHEW!!

So from me...I would say LONG lol. But that is only my personal experience :D

My DD was a VBAC after an emergency CS with DS. I started feeling pains at about 2am ish, woke my DH at about 4am, went to hospital at 6am and started to push at 10am. Things didn't quite go according to plan but my Princess arrived assistaed by forceps at midday. That is still classed as a VBAC right?
It was quick (I laboured for over 14 hours with DS and I mean full on labour in hospital!). I did use a TENS machine with my DD and I think that helped me control the pain, plus I knew this was my last birth so I was determined to birth vaginally.
Its definitely do-able.
Be sure, be prepared and be determined and (hopefully) you'll get your VBAC.
And if you don't then it doesn't matter, you'll have your baby alive and well and that is the most important thing.
