No Water Mummy!!!
My son is just over 9mths old and flatly REFUSES to drink water!! I offer it to him in a bottle, he spits it out. I offer it to him in a sippy cup, he spits it out....BUT....he loves drinking water in the bath and in the pool...of all places, with all that chlorine!!:wall::doh: It is starting to bother me that he won't drink water and I know that he should be. Especially during the hot summer mths. Anyone have any ideas on how to get him to drink it?? I'm worried that he will get dehydrated.

I first gave D a drink of water straight from a cup, have you tried having a drink yourself & then offering him some maybe? all I can suggest is that you keep offering he will eventually start drinking it. D won't drink a whole lot, maybe a mouthful or two, sometimes he chokes on it sometimes he doesn't  he hasn't quite worked it out yet, once he has had enough he starts playing with it like taking a mouthful & then let it fall out of his mouth ifykwim?
HTH & hope he starts drinking for you soon.

Hey Nina, I agree with Nic.
Allexander wouldn't drink water from a bottle but will drink it from a glass or anything that i am drinking it from.
You would be surprised at how well they can drink from glasses too - obviously not holding themself but Alex does really well straight out of a glass.

make sure it's cold :) Don't offer him anything else and he should eventually take it.
I have a friend who added the tiniest amount of food dye, like a drib just to tinge the water to trick her child into drinking it, she just phased it out after he was happy to drink it.
Sorry I can't be more help!

If he is breastfed then he prob doesn't really need that much extra water - Mackenzie still only has sips every now and then. We added 1-2 drops of lemon juice to her water and she quite liked that but MCHN said that wasn't good so we now give her icy water - she loves it!!!
