Formula feed babies together how hard is this?

Hi there I'm going to try to BF my babies in hospital but if there are any problems I will most likely change to Bottles.

How hard is it to feed twins together with bottles?

I'm thinking of feeding them every 3 hours and want to make the most of my time re feeding one at a time or together.

If you have done this together what are the best methods to feed 2 at once?

I formula feed my two and if one wakes for a feed i wake the other one and you learn all different tricks, propping up in pillows, holding them in the crook of your elbow and using the hand of that same arm to hold the bottle, sit on the floor with your legs bent inwards and a baby in each knee. Whatever works and gets you back to bed the soonest! Good luck!

If your going to breast feed I would suggest getting a twin feeding pillow. I fed my twins for three months and then moved on to FF. I have two bouncers and I put them in that and sit on the floor with them and hold the bottles. I found this works best for me personally.

My mum breastfed my baby sisters until seven months but was comp feeding from three due to low supply.
She wishes she had found a way to continue the breastfeeding as she has found bottle feeding with the girls hell, and she has two teenage boys to help her so she has had it easier than most. But it will be different ith all babies and all mummies.
If your babies come prematurely hilst it is harder to get a supply, it is important for you to keep BFing if possible. The girls had bleeds on the brain and seizures and all sorts and my mum is convinced that BFing for so long has been what has kept them healthy (they are now 12 months old). She had never successfully breastfed before so she worked really hard to make it work ith the tins.
You should get in touch with the AMBA they will probably have a lot of great resoources for you etc.

My babies are 3 months and I FF them. I Get two pillows I place a baby on each pillow and I sit in the middle and I feed both at the same time. I usually do this in bed. I found this the best way.

Hi! My neighbour has 3mo twins and we were just talking about this today. She FF them at different times, demand feeding both of them. She tried to feed them at the same time, thinking it would be easier, but it turned out to be harder for her cause one would be hungry, and the other wouldn't, so she would feed one, then try to feed the other, have them not hungry so they didn't have it, and then she would just have to feed them again later when they were hungry. She said it works so much easier for her to just feed them whenever they are hungry on demand, but it is usually always within the same hour. Plus I imagine it would give her time to feed one, then spend time settling them etc before moving on to the next baby, as opposed to having them both fed together then needing to settle them together kwim?

I think you'll find though that no matter how you do it, they wont' know that you want to feed them every 3hrs, so whichever method you choose to feed them, it's best to follow their cues.

I tried feeding one and than the other, But it takes about 2 -3 hours doing this and trying to settle one while the other one wakes and than they want to be feed takes tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. I feed my twins both at the same time and settle then at the same time so they would get into the routine of sleeping at the same time. It's so much work when you have one asleep and the other one awake and than it changes the other one sleeps and than the other one is awake. You get nothing done during the day and if you have other children at home you get little time with them. I feed my twins every 4 hours they are 3 months. I know that all twin mums do what they can and what is best for them. But try a few things and see what suits you and ask .

You can always try prop feeding aswell, That is where you place a cloth under each bottle whilst baby is lying on his/her side. But if you do try this you must stay will babies.
You could alternate and prop feed one baby and hold and feed other bub.
