Help very upset - TIA
Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and tonight i am feeling really upset and worried and could use a little advice if anyone has the time.
I am in my 13th week of pregnancy and unfortunately suffered for the last 6 weeks incredibly bad morning sickness which lasted all day everyday - I managed to get through this with my own tactics but last week I suffered a very scary and worrying attack called a transient ischemic attack (TIA). Basically this is a mini stroke and I lost feeling to the right side of my body, I was confused and went blind for a short period of time and had pains in my neck. I went to the emergency room but they were so understaffed and busy they did not conduct the proper tests (my GP is now doing this for me). I suffered this attack once before in my life when I was 16 years old (I am 25). I also suffer from Graves Disease.
I start a new job on Monday and I am so scared. I'm scared of suffering another attack, I'm scared of harm to the baby and I am also concerned that I am actually not going to be 100 % well enough to take on this new job (I am a teacher). All my family wants me to quit the job before I've even started but financially I don't think I can do it. All this combined and having been sick for so long, I think I am feeling very overwhelmed and a little blue tonight.

firstly huge  to you and welcome to BB
I have no advice or words of wisdom but wanted you to know someone is listening. I too had severe MS it lasted til my DD was born. There is nothing worse than been so sick. If there is any way around it i'd think about not going to work but if you have too i'd be making it pretty clear to your boss the situation incase you need to have any time off.
I'm sorry i cant help you with the other issues maybe some one out there can but BB is a bit quiet this time of night.
Again  try not to feel down (easier said than done i know) have you asked your GP about working and what is his/her recommendation?

Thank you Hoody. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some kind words. I will be seeing my GP some time next week so I will ask what his thoughts are about it all. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

congrats on your PG, and big hugs  for you hun. I also don't have any particular advice to give, but take one day at a time and I hope things get better soon. Definitely worth talking to your GP about it all... cos at the end of the day, the health of you and your bubba are the most important thing.

Again Congrats on your PG!!!
I have a little bit of advise about morning sickness and teaching, so hopefully it will help. I am UTD with my second and had m/s during 4th term last year and it was pretty bad. I found once I was in front of the class I was able to forget about it for a while but in my breaks I tried to eat fruit and anything else that took my fancy. I drank lots of water and juice to keep my fluids and sugar level up.
I'm not sure how to help with the other stuff but you will get lots of support on BB - good luck with chatting to your GP and I hope you feel better.
