Soy to Conceive??
Hi Everyone (posted in the right place this time)!!
Weird kind of question here I know but just thought I might ask!! A friend of mine has just found out that she is having twins!! (Exciting I know!!) she eats a lots of Soy and Tofu being a Vegetarian but we wondered if this might be the reason behind conceiving them.
We've both been having a look further into this and have come up with some research suggesting that Soy acts like Clomid in stimulating the ovaries... is this true do you think!!? Has anyone else a vegetarian or soy eating who has conceived twins??

wow dont kno anything about this,,, but interesting topic will keep watching!!
im a naturally concieved fraternal twin dnt think my mum was into that kinda stuff tho..

From what I've been reading, Soy is considered "Natures Clomid", because it is naturally high in estrogen and can help with ovulation. It seems to only work though if you have the soy before ovulating it seems to be a bit risky if you take it in high doses, all of the time...
So not sure if this actually goes against my friend getting pregnant with twins, because she eats Soy alot, and not on specific days!!
Thoughts?

I don't know.
I do have a friend who just had fraternal twins.
Her mother was also pregnant with fraternals, but lost one at 5 months.
Her mothers sister also had fraternals.
So I do believe its genetic to produce more than one egg, but I doubt any of that had to do with soy.
All the fraternals I know of have a family history of fraternals. It could be possible though. You never know.

hmmm interesting.
I eat soy and we're expecting twins. I wonder.... I put it down to age and lots of folic acid.
