Sliding down hammock...too big?

James seems to be shuffling down the hammock in his sleep, this morning I got him out and his legs were quite bent down the bottom - thank goodness I have been doing up the zipper bits or I think he would have fallen out. :redface: He is around 6.5 kgs. I thought that these hammocks could be used for a long time but I think I will have to move him out into the cot sooner than I wanted. He sleeps SOOOO well in it - stirs in the night and the gentle movement puts him back to sleep. In a cot that won't happen. :(

Has anyone else had this happen? I am putting him as far up as I comfortably can.

i havent used a hammock my self but wonder is it tied a bit wonky so he is being moved by his own movements???

We modified our hammock so Jovie was at the bottom and not the middle,... we put a wheat bag under one side of the mattress so it would weigh it down and Jovie's head was above everything else so her reflux wouldn't hurt. We tied up the sides and zipped it up on the bottom and put her down near the bottom... so I can't help with it being a problem, but that is how Jovie always slept in it.

Reaghan is 7kilos and still in hammock, sometimes she slides down but not all the way, she starts with head as far up the head end as possible and probabbly ends up about 10cm down. she rolls from side to side and all but is still comfy. so if he is still comfy i would not worry.

I always put Oskar's feet at the bottom... there's a pic if you click on his name in my sig and go to album named 12 wks - 4 months picture number 5. He went into his cot at around 6 months cos he wanted to roll around.

Beth is nearly 8 kilos :o and still in the hammock too.... she doesn't seem to slide down though, so sorry can't help with that....might ask the Bear if he has any suggestions :dunno:

I haven't had a baby sleeping in mine but I know it has velcro at the top where it wraps around the crossbar, to raise the head or foot as appropriate to keep bubs centered... Does yours have that and maybe you just forgot about it??
