Hi All
DS starts FDC next week as i am returning to work three days, and i need to provide food, i often have trouble coming up with ideas on what to feed him especially for lunch and sometimes tea. So I am calling out for all ideas or you can just tell me what is normal diet in your homes. i am hoping it might give us some ideas

We do baby led solids and i know the idea is already freaking the career out - she starts next week as i am returning to work then...
so i will send sandwiches for lunch of either
avocado
avocado and cheese
vegemite
hummos
any dips that i have made recently
jam
or crackers like vitawheat or cruskets etc etc with simiar toppings
i will also send a snack of a tub of cut up fruit.
The other day i made a batch of food for MJ, i cooked up some onion and beef mince, added a tin or chick peas and lentil and some boiled carrots and beans (but you could use any veggies that are left over) and mixed them all together. She has this with pasta or rice or potato.
she also loves quiche, we have one a week usually, it is quick and easy and if you make it yoursef it can be fairly healthy.
another favorite is tinned tuna mixed with avocado and some boiled veggies again served with pasta or by itself.
I also find that if i am making spag bol, shepards pie or anything along those lines i just make extra and divide it up into MJ sized portions and then freeze... usually i will hae a cook up once a week and if i make 7-10 servings of what ever it is, over the space of a month i have tons of food that i can thaw and give MJ.
She also eats our left overs from the day before... she will eat most things and i tend not to cook with salt or use packet sauces so i know that she is eating well...

For Fdc, i send Ds with:
sandwich
banana or apple
some sultanas
yoghurt
cheese slices
and a muesli bar
If im sick of making sandwiches, I will through a packet of 2 minute noodles in his bag.
I've also given him fruit salad, grapes, crackers, biscuits, popcorn, vege chips, carrot sticks, celery sticks, le snaks, mini frankfurts, sausage rolls andparty pies etc.
DD1 gets:
Yoghurt
Sandwich with vegemite
Slice of plastic cheese
Container of grapes or half apple
Fruit bar
4 sakata biscuits
Jar of custard
DD2 gets: (she still doesnt eat solids much still)
1 bottle
Half sandwich with vegemite
4 sakata biscuits
1 jar custard or fruit gel
Both get a sippy cup of water or very diluted cordial.
