16mths - Am I fooling myself?

DS is 16 months and is showing real interest in TT. It is to a stage now that as soon as his nappy comes off at night time before his bath he will squat and do a poo on the tiles. He stands up, points at it with a big smile and is so very proud. He has done this once in the shower (yuck I know) and also once in the bath. I thought this was just a coincidence but it has happened for 5 days straight. I don't mind the cleaning so much, but I also don't want him thinking the tiles are the loo.

The thing is, I don't want to push him to TT by getting a potty. Could he have a a bad association with it because I introduced it too early and take longer to TT in the end?

Any opinions??? Anyone TT their DS at this age???

Don't get me wrong I'd love to TT him early but I don't want to push it.

If he is consistent you could start / part TT by putting him on a potty at the time he normally uses the tiles. It may be a while before he is aware of when he is weeing and tells you but there is no harm in trying the potty while he is being consistent but not stressing over it if he doesn't continue on.

Mind you, this is from the woman who is still trying to figure out when to consider it for her own DS :D Sounds like the little man is growing up waaaayyy too fast :hug:

I agree, put him on the potty when you take his nappy off. I don't think that's any pressure for him at all. It might not continue, but if it does, well done to you both!

He is growing up way to quick Michelle. The new thing is he takes himself off to bed and doesn't even give me a kiss and a cuddle anymore, I just get a wave :crying:

Awww Spring :hug: Oscar is at the point of saying "bed", "milk" and "car" (which is his dummy with a teddy bear in a car on it :D) and "hand" to hold to take him upstairs when he is ready for bed. And he basically goes to sleep on his own except for a few minutes of rubbing my elbow for comfort :dunno: It makes me reflect on the difficulty we had getting him to sleep as an infant and it amazes me how grown up he is now.

And Lily is already a month old - 11 months until her 1st birthday :o
