BFN at 17DPO....no way I could be PG, right?????

My period is 5 days late. Have elevated temps too. I am not really wanting to get PG just yet and was EXTRA careful this month (without going into too much detail). With DD, I tested on a pee stick at 10DPO and had a faint line. I am 17DPO and tested this morning on tests that I bought from ebay, they are strips you pop in a container of urine. Not sure if they are really effective IYKWIM. I really doubt I am PG if 17DPO is a BFN.

Can anyone shed some light on this situation for me? Were you BFN at 17DPO and then BFP a few days later? What do you think of those PG tests, should I just go buy a good pee stick like CLEAR BLUE or something?

hmm...... so you have been temping and know when you definately ovulated?? And your temps are still up?? I reckon it could be a bfp then. What brand are the tests?

SaraJane, temps still elevated yes. Brand is ONE STEP from ORACLE FERTILITY, they are just ebay ones.

Hmm... I don't know those tests. But they say elevated temps to 18DPO means pregnancy I think.
But then you think you would have had a bfp by now, confusing!! Maybe it is the tests.

at about 17 DPO i was still getting BFN with my tests, so i went and got another brand and they showed BFP.... I'd get another one and see how it goes

I have used that test, the second line came up extremely faint for days and days, I was starting to get worried thinking that if I was pregnant then my hcg levels mustn't be rising too greatly. Eventually, after AF almost being 2 weeks late and still getting extremely faint lines I went and got another brand, although it was apparently less sensitive, that second line came straight up much much much stronger and clearer.
I do have my doubts about those tests. They get sent in the post, so I don't know if they may get affected by heat in the process?? I don't know, but they barely showed my pregnancy, and I definitely was/am.

I have the same ebay tests, im only 7dpo, so i hope i get a true result when the times comes, i tested last night at 6dpo and bfn, no supprise there. lol.

Yeah my BF bought that brand on ebay as well. They made her panic. After 1 bligted ovum and 1 molar pregnancy, she was getting BFN at 28DPO, thinking the worst again, she saw her doc who confirmed that she was 6wks pregnant. Let us know how you go.

Well i bought a CRYSTAL CLEAR test today. I tested with that at 10DPO with DD and it came up with a line. So I will do it in the morning. I will be 18DPO. Could be other reasons whilst AF hasn't turned out. Not stressing at all. Sort of don't want one just yet but a couple of months early won't matter too much at all. So I will let you all know tomorrow morning after 6am!

Yes a bit strange, AF still not here and don't feel like it is nearing. Maybe I'll miss AF this month, who knows? Confusing but bodies can do strange things! Actually, I sort of got used to the idea of perhaps being PG. Would be nice really.

hmmmmm still no AF, tomorrow is 7 days late. my friend is PG and had a BFN 2 weeks after AF was due. she tested 3 weeks after AF was due and had a BFP. i have had the teeniest bit of brown blood (sorry if TMI) this afternoon but it is such a small amount, a dot pretty much and now nothing. i can't remember whether i had brown blood when i was PG with DD. is that normal? i won't test again for a couple of days.

qb i get spotting 3 days before af is due normally starting with pink then brown.

AF is NEVER late....ever. I am 6 days over. This is the first time (apart from when PG with DD) that I have been late. It is really strange. I have been irritable, craving sugar (but that could be AF coming) and had a dry, scratchy throat (remember I had that with DD 2 weeks after ovulating and I was PG). Hmmm....it is strange :rolleyes:

Symptoms I get are normally headache, that is it. Have not had a headache.

We are super careful through the month (withdrawal method). That is so not 100% I know....but DP is always really conscious of it. Are there others on here that have fallen using that method as a contraceptive? I can't take pill so use natural methods (temping, etc).

Could you have Od later and the spotting be implantation?
