queenbee, the only worry would be the size of them and getting stuck in her throat.
Is there some way of giving her crushed ice (putting it in a blender and giving it a pulse) then putting that in a cup? Or is she hooked on the cube?
i wont let dd have ice cubes..i chocked as a kid, and im terrified of them!
we have an ice crusher, so i give her some crushed ice in her drinks, just like we have.
the size is important, but the ice will actually melt before it can do any harm if it does get stuck in the throat if it is small enough. Charlotte has been having icecubes since she was 6 months old and we have NEVER had an issue at all. She knows how to suck on them and will spit them out and suck them up again and agian until they ae small enough for her to chew on. She loves them!!
Like I said though, the size is definately important.
My sister choked on an ice cube when she was younger, so I am a bit paranoid about giving my kids them too.
The smaller the better I think...
I remember Joshua choking on one a little bit when he was probably around 8ish months?? I panicked at first but then reality hit... like LimeSlice said... they melt before they can do harm anyway. Especially if you can get them to drink a little water it'll melt it even faster.
DD is so addicted to ice. I put them in the blender too or just smash them around with a knife to make the pieces smaller.
