Do they not record bubs length in your child's health record book anymore?

Hey guys

I know it may be a bit different from state to state, but I just noticed today that in DS's Baby book (health records) there isn't a "Length Chart". There is still the graph for charting a baby's weight, but none for the length.
I know these graphs are over rated etc..but I was just wondering why they have left out the length chart now, or is it that it was just missed out of his book?! :dunno:

(Why I was wondering is that DS looks really long! and I am wondering if we just think that or if he is infact quite long for his age..)

Yep, we have a length chart in the QLD book. They're pretty overrated though, but I'm sure you could find one if you googled for it?

(Completely OT but how funny is it that 'googled' is a recognised word now. LOL!)

We have them in our books in ACT too - maybe you got a dud book??? Has your baby been measured and MCHN written in the consultation areas and just not recorded on the graph or something?

I have one in the Tas one :) I would say dud book. As the head one there? And both sexes?

Hi Lee - i think you got a dud - Isla has one in hers and we are Perth too - if you tell me his length and age i can tell you the percentile if you like - or get my page photocopied and sent you.

Thanks for the replys guys and the links!!..It does seem we got a dud book by the sounds of it! How strange!

Thanks for the kind offer Julie!..what I might do is ask the CHN at his 2 month imms and see if I can get that page! (although I know it doesn't matter really!).

Wonder if anything else is missing??!

Lee, my book didn't have a length or head circumference chart in it either - only weight. The LC at my BF'ing clinic put them in for me. If you ask your CHN, she should have them and put them in the book for you.

Oh, and DS was born 53cm long, and was 61cm at 7 weeks.
