Hi godesses,
Hoping one of you can help me! DD had a wonderful time with the playdough this morning, but when I answered the phone and came back she had shredded the stuff all over the carpet and walked all over it. So now I have yellow spots through the carpet.
Anyone know anything that can dissolve playdough without wrecking the carpet?

I'd try to chip away at the stuff. I wouldn't wet it...

I agree with Lulu ... i wouldn't wet it in fear of any possible colour coming out of the playdough ...
Could you wait for it to dry then vacuum then finger pick the rest of it out :rolleyes:
Yes I could, but I'm lazy and it's literally EVERYWHERE!!! I can't face an afternoon of picking playdough out of the carpet on my hands and knees!!
Let it dry, then bash it to dust with a mallet or something, then vaccum.
Sorry but you're going to have to ;):
I spent hours over a few days getting hot pink playdough out of green carpet. Wait till it's dry and scrape it with a spatula and vacuum the crumbs up, have a break and keep going. It's quite therapeutic :p

and one of the reasons I have boards instead of carpet.....it STILL sticks to it though!
It even sticks when stuck up noses. Much easier to get out of carpet than from a nostril :lol::

A nose is wet, so the playdough itself stays wet, or gets wet if it is dry. It just starts to melt in the nose and has to be suctioned out in the emergency department.:
I am seriously reconsidering the benefits of playdough after reading this (and spending that afternoon on my hands and knees!)
Why do kids think it's so great to stuff things up their noses!!!

yep best solution (proven over 14 years long daycare);) butter knife, let playdough dry, srape dry dough loose with knife (watch your eyes as small flecks of playdough in the eye stings like nothing else!!!! speaking from lots of experience LOL) then Vacum up.
putting a mat or piece of plastic down under the tablew will help a little till it gets stuck on someones shoe and finds it's way in to the carpet anyway...good luck!!

Seems to like the stuff, ate a handful at cr?che yesterday, then my niece decided to try and get him to spit it out, yeah right, try prising open the mouth of a two year old when he doesn't want to. :D
By the way ........ I forgot to tell you. :lol: It was orange so if something strange is his nappy you now know what it is. :rolleyes:
