Yeah, I think it's ok cooked. I would just make sure I ate it when it was really hot.
As long as it made from Pasteurised milk it's fine.
That sounds soooo yum! Cooked is fine, as far as I know. :D
Pasturised fetta is fine uncooked. Just dont' get it from the deli. Packaged stuff is fine.
thanks ladies i bought a pasteurised milk one so its all good!! thanks ladies.
Yeah I think all deli stuff is off the menu while pg ;) Packaged is fine. Ladies how about packaged meant? Salami etc
Steer clear of all cold meats - even chicken! They are all breeding grounds for listeria...
Any cheese is fine as long as it is made in Australia. We regulate all our cheese production by pasteurising it - that goes for brie and camembert too :D
ETA - I did eat salami and ham on pizza, but I either eat it straight out of the pizza oven or nuke it in the micro to kill all the bacteria.
Salami is raw meat, so probably best to steer clear of.
The Listeria bacteria is actually very vulnerable to heat, it does off really quickly after 70 degrees. So you can have ham, salami, whatever you wish - as long as you nuke it to piping hot right before you eat it. I have toasted sandwiches but I heat the meat up first and then still put it in the toaster.
