approx. 6dpo..... just want to know!!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to bellybelly and new to charting too! I had an increase in temp 6 days ago and hubby and I BD for about 4 days before that, so I'm hoping for a BFP this month! Hmmm we'll see... I'm learning heaps about stuff I'd never knew about before, like CM, temps, etc etc. Talk about frustrating though in the 2WW! This is our 2nd month TTC. My cycles have been regular but vary from 30-36 days so its tricky knowing actually when O is going to occur. I think my timing was wrong last month. Is anyone else around 6dpo at the moment? When does implantation usually occur? When is it fairly reliable to do a HPT? I am so impatient!!

Hi Malia and MrsMc.

Implantation using occurs 7-10 days after you ovulate. Then it usually takes a few more days before there will be enough hcg in your system for it to show up on a hpt. A lot of the tests say that you can test from things like 7 days after ovulation, but the only times they would come up with a positive is if you were in the very small percentage where implantation occurred very early (like on day 5), and that the bubs was making lots of hcg. It's rare, but definitely not impossible. There have been girls on here that have gotten early positives on hpts.

I was always a serial pee-er and would start using hpt's from about 8DPO, but I got my first positive at 14DPO with my angel, and at 11DPO with my current little darling.

I definitely sympathise with you impatientness though. The waiting was always a killer!!! Best of luck though. I hope this is your month! :hug:

I'm now 12 dpo and tested this morning and got BFN... disappointing but will wait and see if I get AF this week.

I hope in a few days AF doesn't show and you DO get a BFP Malia!

I tested at 8DPO (I am extremely impatient) and got a BFP...but, that is VERY rare, I got very high levels of hcg with all my bubs. Please dont be dishearten if you test early and get a BFN, as I said its rare to get a BFP that early.

That IS early Marlene, getting a BFP that early would of been super exciting!

I ended up getting AF that cycle and am now CD 3 on current cycle. So will try again this month! :crossfingers:

8dpo sure was early for BFP on HPT! That would have been great - not too long a wait!

Yes, it was super exciting to get a BFP that early...I went to the doctor to get it confirmed with a BT and he asked me "so how late is your period?" I told him it wasn't due yet, LOL, and he thought I was a loony for thinking I was pg....HAHA to him when the BT was positive...LOL.
