help me help DD
We had to change her schools - she is finding it hard to settle in.
She says the other kids dont play with her at recess and lunch.
How can I help her/encourage her to talk to the other kids? She wants to go back to her old school and its breaking my heart.
She has gone from a year 3 class only to a 3/4 composite class and from what i can see the cirriculumn at the new school is more intense than her old school, i think this may be impacting on her too.
Any ideas?
My poor little girl is so sad :(

I know this sounds very strange BUT while in school I was bullied :( It was due to lack of confidence, go figure
My mum gave me her necklace to wear, it was VERY speacial to her and she told me "this will protect you." The necklace made me feel asthough with it on I was confident :)
I felt asthough I had my mum with me :) I made great friends from then on ;) And this was in high school!
I think the change in things in the different schools would fall into place with a little more confidence. It's amazing how much it can help.
Also are you able at night to sit with her and go over things?
Give it a go....

aww hun your poor DD :( How horrible for you to watch it happening too. Hope you work something out so she can make friends and enjoy school.

Why not organise a play date? If you DD doesn't feel comfortable establishing friendships on the playground she might do better at her own home. At school drop off or pick up try and strike up a conversation with the other mums, her seeing this too (that you can make new friends easily) will also help her self esteem. Its soooo hard but it will get better xxx

I felt better at school when my mum was more involved which I understand would be hard with a newborn. Play dates are a great idea and maybe if she had a goal of talking to one new person a week it can help (just quietly thats mine  it helps cz Im so shy).

Thankyou ladies!!
Today DD wore my amber necklace as her confidence boost - (under her dress of course, no jewellery at school) and she made 3 new friends and just feels so much etter about school!
I do chat to the other mums who are there to drop off/pick up but they are all boys mums, dont know where the rest of them are.
She joined the dance group today (thanks to the confidence necklace!!) and hopefully will be able to have a playdate sooner rather than later - if i can find the other mums!!
BIG mWAH and thankyou!!

Im glad the same thing worked for her as it did me :) Hopefully she'll continue to get more and more confidence and then one day not have to wear the neclace :) Well done mummy!
