What's my crazy uterus doing to me now?! Bleeding mid cycle

So what is up with this? I didn't think I'd even ovulated yet (even though I was due to), and now I've got very slight spotting. TMI but I had a smear of blood on toilet paper but mostly mucous. I checked my cervix later and it's high and soft, when I touched it there was a little bit of blood with thick mucous. What the heck!! I thought I was due to ovulate yesterday but I didn't get any EWCM and my cycle has been irregular so now I'm thinking perhaps I ovulated before, concieved, and this is implantation bleeding? Or could it be ovulation bleeding? I've never bled mid cycle before so I'm completely baffled! Any ideas? I'm on day 19 of my cycle, I *thought* I was having 30 day cycles but they were 28 day cycles not so long ago so I'm completely confused now. The blood is also quite red rather than brown or pink.

I'm guessing it could be either Ovulation bleeding or implantation bleeding..... i have only once ever had an O bleed (just a small amount) and thought WTH!... Do you temp at all??? Might be an idea to give yourself a better idea if/when you do o

Thanks, Nikki. My guess is that it's one of the two as well, I just wish I could tell which! It seems like the wrong timing for both :lol: I don't really chart my cycle, i've just recently started keeping track of my cervical mucous and position. Me and DP decided to buy a house and therefore wait before TTC, I just got a script filled for the minipill lol! (Not that i'd be upset if i was UTD though ;) ) How soon after ovulation does implantation bleeding usually take place, does anyone know?

Everyone is different but since starting TTC i have seen it happen to people 5dpo to around 11-12dpo?? most people can test a few days after an implantation bleed (some as early as 2 days)

I just looked up on the net and it said that implantation bleeding is usually from 6 - 12DPO as you said. If only I knew when I'd ovulated! The last time I DTD with DP was the 28th so if I ovulated then, this could be implantation bleeding. Or I could've ovulated in the preceeding days when we were having sex. Oh what a sordid state of affairs!

Update: blood is now brown on my liner and pinkish reddish when I wipe, and still scant. WTF? Help! :(

I'm afraid the only way to be completely sure of what is happening is to use a reliable barrier method of contracption (i.e. a condom) or (EVEN BETTER) abstinence for 16 days from the last time you DTD and then do a test (because the vast majority of pregnancies will show up by the 16th day after the act). If it's negative then you're not PG and can go on the minipill (which BTW made me not bleed for 54 days then bleed continuously for the following 23 days, JIC you were looking for menstrual stability!).

Thanks, Bx! Lmao about menstrual stability, luckily it's just to avoid PG until me and DP buy a house (which we're gonna begin attempting in June). So that would be 9 more days I think? If the last time we DTD was the 28th? Sounds right. Don't suppose you have any idea as to whether it sounds like ovulation bleeding or implantation bleeding? I know, asking impossible questions.
Guess this means I'm doing the 2 week wait :lol:

IME ovulation bleeding is 2 days of red-pinkish spotting and implantation is one day pinkish and 2 days brownish and heavier BUT the PG i had implantation with i subsequently lost, so i don't know if it was "normal". I had no implantation with DD. I bleed every ovulation and because my sister has PCOS and i have thyroid insuficiency, my GP is always happy to hear i bleed when i O despite the Mirena, because it indicates it's all working fine.

Thanks again and i'm sorry for your loss. I heard recently as well that bleeding during ovulation is a good fertility sign ('cept that's not really what I was going for this year lol). From what you've said this kinda sounds more towards implantation bleeding since I've had brown blood. It makes sense that implantation bleeding would be heavier than ovulation bleeding too. Such excitement and fear all at once . .

edit: I should totally just get an OPK hey? It would confirm or rule out a major possible cause of these mysterious happenings!

You could get an OPK hun but i always bleed AFTER O, the blood is from the egg sac rupturing and it comes down about 12-24 hours after my maximum EWCM (which i have right now, feeling a bit uncomfy with it! LOL) and i know from the olden days i got the LH surge about 12 hours before the maximum EWCM, so a -ve OPK doesn't necessarily mean this is PG.

Seriously though, i just feel it in my waters with you. Whether you're PG now or not, you're not gonna make it to June! ;)

Hehehe Bx I was wondering about that, actually - whether your feeling about me was a premonition! I didn't get the OPK and I'm still seeing brown blood on the toilet paper . . .

Oh, and before any of this, I had a dream my mum was pregnant. It may seem totally random but I wonder if its something to do with me already being am mother and being pregnant again? I don't know, in a wierd dream kinda way it was me but it was her IYKWIM? In defence of my craziness, I dreamt about severe storms in northern WA the night they happened (and I hadn't heard that there was any possibility of this). Or maybe I sound more insane now :redface:

Not very insane, my (dead) mum came to me in a dream and told me "your baby's coming now" when there was no REMOTE possibility i could be. And of course i was.

Argh! I wrote a whole post and it deleted! Stupid desk top net cafe! Anyway, I got a BFP (read: big FAINT positive) yesterday CD 19. I've been having cramps, bloating, hot flushes, extreme tiredness and teariness for the last week! Lots of CM and my cervix has nearly disappeared completely. I'm still second-guessing the BFP as it was very faint so I will be doing another if I don't get AF on CD 30, Wednesday. Fingers crossed XD

Only eek! in this thread for me is that I am not TTC but just noticed similar bleeding mid cycle. I have been extreeeeemly clucky these last few days and we are planning #3, only later this year.

And Bx's comments about "no way could I be pg" are haunting me!! I can't be THAT fertile, could I?
