Weird discharge after Birth! Is this Normal?

I know i am meant to discharge blood and some ammounts of mucus.. But 2 days after birth I passed during the night a large blood type sack.. the size of a box of Ciggarettes.. Is this normal?
As long as i'm not losing Organs here?????? LOL

Hi Babyface... I didn't experience this with either of my two kids. I'd suggest getting it checked out by your Doctor.

I also passed a few blood clots and one of them was huge!Probably about the size you've described!I was also totally freaked out.I rang my midwife and she assured me it was normal BUT if I passed anymore or if the bleeding got heavier to give her a call.After I passed the huge one the bleeding slowed right down.I also had the passing thought that I may have passed one of my ovaries!!PMSL!

I passed clots also, but not that size. I remember one of the midwifes saying to me that anything over the size of a lemon should be reported to them.

I passed 2 clots about the size of an apple and was stuck in emergency for 12 hours(only had one doctor at the time :rolleyes: ) and when i had the u/s they found some left over 'material' and i had to have some antibiotics, so i'd go see your doctor.

i would suggest dr too. i passed clots like that after zak and then they turned into football size. so enormous i could feel it coming out. i had a major infection and needed antibiotics too.
