I'd just make a regular banana cake and put some cocoa in it. Or you could add some choc chips.
I like to add bananas to vanilla packet mix cakes...too easy!
I just do a banana cake and mix in some chocolate chips :) so yummy!
I love banana choc chip muffins!
Also, another way I do it is I divide the mixture in 2 and add mashed banana to one half, and melted chocolate to the other half, and gently swirl them together in the cake pan.
I have a recipe from one of the Women's Weekly cookbooks..will go and find for you. I'm not a huge fan of banana cake, but this cake is just delicious! They call it bread...but I think it's more of a cake than bread!
1 cup mashed banana
3/4 cup caster sugar
2 eggs, beaten lightly
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup milk
2/3 cup self-raising flour
2/3 cup wholemeal self-raising flour (I don't have this, so I just use normal SR flour)
3/4 cup coarsely chopped roasted walnuts (I've never used these either)
1/4 cup finely chopped dark eating chocolate
Preheat oven to 180C (160C fan-forced). Grease a loaf pan, line base and long sides with baking paper.
Combine banana and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in eggs, oil and milk. Add remaining ingredients and stir until combined. Spread mixture into pan. Bake for about 1 hour or until a skewer comes out clean. Stand in pan for 5 minutes then turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
They also have a whipped nut butter that is supposed to go with it, I've never made it, have just made the cake on it's own, but here it is anyway:
100g butter
1/4 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts
Beat butter in small bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy, stir in nuts and serve with bread.
Haha... Dh is making one right now!
