How do you pronounce...?
Louis?
I think it is Loo-is (like Lewis but I don't really like that spelling!) but I'm a bit worried that it might be Loo-ie (Like Louie the fly!)
So what do you think.
Am I concerned over nothing? I don't want to look like a dill pronouncing it louis if the rest of the world thinks it should be louie!!!
:) TIA

I would say Loo-ie.
If you want Loo-is I would spell it Lewis :)
-
I would pronounce Louis as Louie.
-
I always understood it to be pronounced Louie...
-
MMM that's what I was afraid of...sigh!
-
FWIW I love the sound of the name Louis (aka loo-ie)!
very cute, a little different and quite regal!!
-
i thought louis was LOW is
-
I thought it was loo-is. If you add and e it is louise (Loo -ize)
-
As you can see I have a son Lewis, his name is often spelt the other way as in Louis.
I think that technically the correct pronunciation for the spelling Louis is Looie but most people would look at Louis and prounce is has loois.
Funny think is my Lewis gets called Lewie by his older brother because when he was little he couldn't say Lewis and he ended up with Lewie.

It can be either, depends if you are French or not ;)
I know a Louis pronounced Loo-us, but then theres also St Louis which is 'louie'

Could you consider Luis - I think its the spanish spelling. One of the boys in my Mum's group was Luis pronounced Loo-is, although he got Loo-ee as a nickname.
