possible skin cancers
just went to get my skin checked at a melanoma scan place, had one mole in particular that i wanted checked and it turned out to be nothing. however they found two other 'suspect' ones. he didnt seem overly worried, just said to come back in six months. however, he was very blaze about it all and i just feel funny about leaving them for 6 months. couldnt he have done a biopsy or something now? i just think if they are the beginnings of cancers and then we leave them to keep growing for another 6 months then it could make it worse. or am i just being a hypochondriac?

The way I see it if they look suspect then they are worth a second and even third opinion. If you are worried always see another dr. Hope all goes well.

do you reckon it is better to see a normal GP or one of those skin scan places?

I dont know much about those skin scan places but I would probably go to a GP. My mum had a little sore on her nose that would not heal and I made her go to the dr it turns out it is skin cancer but not one to be worried about - anyway the Dr has referred her to a specialist and she is having it cut out next week.

You know what, it always seems the one's that are a bit suss to you are the one's not too worry about. I have just had one cut from my cheek and have an awful scar. I thought it was a whitehead and then had another burned from my nose that I though was dry skin. I may have to get the one on my nose cut out if it comes back.
If you are concerned see someone else, but they are very well trained at the skinscan places.
Good luck

I'd go get a second opinion at a skin clinic.

yeah, i was worried about the wrong one. at least it got me into have my skin checked though. i went to 'melanoma scan' it says they are all GPs with special interest in skin cancer but he just seemed uninterested or something. i would rather have them both out now than wait 6 months to see if they have changed. mi think i will see my normal gp at my 6 week post-birth check up and see what they think.
