To wake or not to wake?
Until recently Sam has been very much in a pattern of feeding very four hours, with a long stretch over night.
Yesterday he suddenly decided to go for an even longer stretch over night (used to wake around 6am, I got him up at 7:20 as I needed to go out). He got all out of routine yesterday, had his last feed at 8pm and then slept until after 6am (normally last feed around 10-11pm).
Now... I expected him to wake up for another feed around 10:30. It's now 11:20 and he's still asleep!
He had his 4 month immunisations last night, and I'd put it down to that except that it started yesterday morning.
What would you do - wake him up or wait for him to wake up himself?
Meanwhile... I've put a load of washing on to see if a noisier house might not encourage him to wake himself...

I was always work on my rule of 'Never wake a sleeping baby'....LOL

Sounds like a growth spurt. My ds does the same. I agree 'Never wake a sleeping baby'

Sam is awake and BW is off tending to him now... i think he's just trying to keep mummy on her toes!

Maybe let him sleep BW. Especially if he continues this for a few more days into the weekend (that is when you take your medication isnt it)
We had a stage where DS would be asleep when I had to take DD to school, so I would have to wake him, and it would set the tone for the rest of the day....a cranky bubba lol..
oops, just noticed your update!

He woke at 12... Barely managed an hour of awake time before he was desperate to go back to bed.
I think it might just be a combination of growth spurt and immunisations... When DH woke him this morning he was quite difficult to wake and me stroking his cheek (usually wakes him up and gives me a smile) just resulted in some harder sucks on his dummy, so he really, really did NOT want to wake up.
I'm thinking growth spurt and immunisations combined. I just hope he's not going to be too far out of his regular routine tonight - but it's DH's night on duty tonight. Yep, Nic, zombie-meds tonight.

DS was very sleepy after his 2 month immunizations and a bit off his food. He is having his 4 month ones at 4pm so we will see what happens this time. I would say its coz of the immunizations. Just monitor him and see how he goes.

I remeber when Bella first slept through.. she was "due" for food and I was like Do I? Dont I?
Well I didnt and now she sleeps from 7pm till 8 am evey night straight through... so I would say Never Wake A Sleeping Baby!!
Hope he keeps up the big sleeps!!

The 2 month needles were the ones that affected DS the most, he slept a lot after them. But I agree with the others, never wake a sleeping baby. Its probably going to all change again tomorrow anyway!
