Our baby names.. some advice needed

Hi.. would love to know what you think about our choices of names.. and what sounds the best together. Our surname starts with G.. and I prefer short names as first names.

For a girl - Ivy is a family name that I def want to use..just not sure how yet. what do you think of the following:
Maya Ivy
Ivy Maya
Zara Ivy

Boys - I am totally stuck although middle name will be Alexander.. So far the only ones I like.. (but dont love) are
Finn Alexander
Jai Alexander
Liam Alexander

Any other suggestions would be great!!

Ivy is just gorgeous - we know a little 5 year old Ivy and she's a delight - definately use it as a first name (cute and not very common) :p
Personally I like Finnthe best but they all 'roll off the tongue' well with Alexander....

i like ivy as a first name as well. second choice would be maya ivy.

but i wouldn't go with Finn just because of the initials it would create. since being married i've become a HO, you can imagine the tactless, rude jokes i get on that one. But i reallly like Jai.

Hehehehe - yes Grub17 I know what you talking about.. you just reminded me that DP and I had the same conversation a few weeks back and he was less than keen about the initials!! :lol:

Go with the name you would like to say or hear more!! Because second names are often not used.

I like Liam.

How about Jasper Alexander.

Ivy is GORGEOUS! Ivy Maya is cute, but I would probably have a longer middle, like:
- Ivy Madeline
- Ivy Arielle
- Ivy Evelyn

For boys, I think Lucas Alexander would be really cool. :)

Well I am biased because I have an Ivy!!! And my 2nd daughter is May! So I would go Ivy Maya... he hee!
I love Zara too tho.

Not sure about the girls.. out of your option's id go Zara Ivy (then with your surname she would be ZIG aka ziggy for short - kinda cute!)

there are some good names there and funnily enough a lot of them are on my list I keep in my handbag!

DP and I were talking last night about using Ivy and Maya together, as I love both the names as first names so I am thinking I might have to save one for later. At the moment I am leaning towards Ivy if I have a girl, as I would like my nan to be around as it is my great grandmothers name and I know how much it would mean to her for me to use it.

So I think I need to think of something to go with Ivy..

I really like both Ivy and Maya for girls names - but I feel that Ivy Maya flows that little bit better somehow. Very pretty!

For boys I like Liam best from your choices. Boys names are so bl**dy tough!!

I adore Ivy, we had decided on Charli Ivy for a girl but alas the baby came with plumbing! We will definately use it in the future! Zara Ivy or Ivy Maya, both such a petty names! How about Nate Alexander or Ethan Alexander?
