Gastro Anyone
Has anyone got a dodgy tummy at the moment? I've been sick with Gastro since Sunday now. Went to the doctor and she said there is not much to do just rest, keep the fluids up and so on. I couldn't eat for two days either and today felt my appetite coming back only to have the need to run to the bathroom many times (sorry for TMI )
I called my Ob and she said pretty much the same and that one in three of her patients have Gastro at the moment... so it must be going around. I've done some research and bubs should be fine... just seeing if anyone else has a DODGY TUMMY :wall: and wants to complain!

A couple of months ago the same thing happened to me. I kept thinking I was feeling better, and then needed to run to the bathroom after eating. It was quite sudden and painful. One night I was in so much pain I was doubled over on the toilet for 20 minutes. After that it went away. It was quite strange. The midwife assured me everything was fine.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Milka,
I noticed you're in Melbourne too - yes there is a dreadful gastro bug going round - I had it about 3 and 4 weeks ago - that's right TWICE! The second time was very violent but short-lived - I think my body recognised it as 'big trouble' and expelled it as quickly and efficiently as possible (ie BOTH ends very fast!)
I was really concerned but both the midwives at the birth centre and my naturopath said as long as the baby is still moving around as normal I shouldn't be concerned (though you may not be feeling them move yet at your stage?). Babies are usually well-protected from mother's minor ailments (just as well as I now have a head cold - great!). If your gastro is prolonged and you aren't getting enough fluids/nutrients that could cause a problem but the main thing is to rest up, drink lots, and keep your diet bland til it blows over. Don't take anti-diarrhoeal tablets as this will stop you from expelling the bug (plus probably not safe in pregnancy anyway).
Hope you get better soon!

im only 12 and a half weeks, however ive had bad gas for about 5 weeks straight. I seriously cant stop farting, anf my fiance thinks im discusting...if only he could understand.
I know it sounds grose, but i feel very sick and bloated if i try and hold them in.
Ive also been very badly constipated for the last few days. Im hoping this is all normal??

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your messages, I am feeling much better!
Koru
I hopefully won't be like you and get it twice. I'm glad you are feeling fine too, and although I can't feel the baby yet the local GP and my Obs receptionist both said the baby should be fine if I keep up my fluids and so forth! Dodgy Melbourne gastro...
First time mummy
yes, pregnancy is so romantic NOT! Feeling bloated with trapped wind in very normal so tell your fiance to stop being mean and get use to it. Good news is does get better by
2nd trimester (well with some people it does). Also constipation is common so I guess all you can do is try and have more fruit and so forth, or you can try some natural stuff like metamucil.
Good luck :D

Hiya Milka,
I have Gastro at the moment for the last three days, I feel wiped out and I feel your pain.
It's eased a little today so hopefully I'm over the worst of it. You get quite worried with bad tummy pains when youre pregnant don't you, I kept thinking my god is this going to bring on early labour?
Hope you feel better soon,
Takecare Missy

Hi girls
i dont post here very often but read a lot of the posts. and have found this one right up my alley!
I suffered terrible terrile gastro over easter, violent vomitting, not even water would stay down - i was 23 weeks at the time. Then after 24 hours of constant vomitting it started the other end.
the only thing i can recommend, is Inner health plus, it puts GOOD bacteria into your stomach. I pumped that stuff! The other thing you have to do is keep your water intake high, even if you are still vomitting!
Also, bananas bananas bananas! good cloggers!!
