Sore stitches area - how long?

Hi
I am 10 days post birth and just wondering how long it took for others to feel pain free in the "stitch area"? I have no idea how many stitches I had but my report says it was a 2nd degree tear and it didn't take my ob very long to stitch me. My friend who was there thinks I might have had about 4 or 5 stitches all up.
I haven't been able to feel any stitches down there at all for the last 5 or so days (I was told my stitches were dissolvable) and the area looks completely back to normal but I am still fairly uncomfortable in that area, especially if I walk around for any length of time (did a 15min walk with the pram today and that has set it off) - it feels like it all tightens up if that makes sense. Is that normal?
I know it is still early days but just wondering about others experiences.

Apparently with the stitches on about day 10 (which is actually today for you!) it gets really tight like it's just making sure it's completely sealed up and then it will relax again and be a lot more comfortable :) That's what they told me after my c/s.
