Any of you MCN users have problems with eczema?
DD2 has it in her nappy area. Its pretty bad. We have recently started using the heater, which always sets it off, but I'm wondering about the fleece in the nappies.
I haven't been using liners, didn't realise I'd have issues, but I'll be getting some. I have some bamboo boosters I might use against her skin til then.
What creams do you guys use? & washing powders? I've been using Planet Ark 'Aware' for sensitive skin.
yup Ash gets it when we use fleece or suede inners.
You can get cotton velour at spotlight, that is great for liners.
Also it could be the powder. I don't use anything except hot water and sun. If I put anything in the washing Ash rashes straight away. Try washing in just hot water and see if it helps.
Also i put a little gaia baby moisturiser on it if it gets especially dry and red looking. Another great one is the Bottom Balm (just google it) which I use every nappy change (but I have since run out :() and that stopped ANY rashes!
Hi, when I used to run the nappy bucket I had a number of customers with bubs with eczema and we use to stick to natural inners so flannelette, cotton velour, bamboo (try bubblebubs, swaddlebees, bumgenius, napnaps and I think Maz - market place member makes AIO with natural inners)
You can buy silk liners also although I had a few reports that this seemed to aggrvate the problem.
Washing - use bicarb or little to no wahing powder. One lady I spoke to used to spray a stain remover on any dirt but not use washing powder.
creams - stay away from anything with petroleum based products. There are some lovely calendula creams out there that are great as calendula fights infection and aids healing. Plant essentials, baby better bottom balm and cherubs rub are the ones that I've tried and recommend. Good luckm hope you find something that works for you

I have only been using cheap pockets for her as I only started with cloth not long ago & didn't want to spend a huge amount for her to decide to TT in a month.
I did just order her an AIO though, so I'll go check it out & see what the inner is.
I don't use much powder & use a different powder for clothes, so I'm not sure it's the powder. I've been using the Aware for 2 months or so & Spree on everything else & have never had problems before.
I hope she's better this morning & can go to pre school instead of the gp. Nappy rash on a near 4 year old though may raise some eye brows.
We use sudocream and haven't had a problem with MCN absorbancy. I plan to do a stripwash if they stop being so absorbant, but so far so good.
I've found sudocream is certainly the best for nappy rash...it clears it up almost overnight.

Nappy rash creams like sudocream can actually feed eczema, so I have to steer clear :):
I can't imagin how you wouldn't get issues using sudocream? I had some on a facewasher and when it washed it was still there :S I wouldn't be game enough.
Darl Ashton wasn't allergic to the washing powder to start with but about 2 months in he started getting allergic. Try washing her nappies in a 60 cycle and sun drying, this is what I do. Also possibly fitteds and woolies might be best to help her bottom area breath. Sandman are good, so are Bizy Bee and Mirabai :)
Ive jsut bought some Moo goo eczema and psoriasis balm for my little man. Best stuff ever!!!!!!
Its cleared up M's eczema on his face and on his butt in 2 days!!! Big tube and it was about $16
B est thing is...its natural and doesnt effect MCN's at all
Aware is still pretty harsh - and it's not your best environmental choice either. Very high in sodium.
Am-o-Lin sensitive liquid detergent is sooooo nice and one of the best detergents you can use, planet-wise.
