Faint Positive HPT x 2 however Neg BT result?
Ello,
Yesterday i got a faint bfp on a hpt (pregnow that measures just 10 so sensitive) and today again i got another faint bfp using the same brand test exactly.
The 2nd line came up very very quickly and was in the test window and was very very faint pink in colour hence i knew this was not an "evap" line which i hear ppl talking about often with tests.
I saw a local GP today. I explained all the many symptoms i've had lately and what seemed to be implant bleeding few days ago and cramps for 5days on and off etc and also sore BBs etc etc... you name it!
I asked him for a blood test to show my hcg levels. He said he can't do that because the test either comes up neg or pos. i explained to him that some friends of mine (BB) have told me to ask for the hcg level readings when they give me the BT result so i know if the levels are good or not... and he said "well, its been a while doing this sort of thing so i'm not sure what you are talking about" and i told him i would like to see the hcg levels thats if it turns out to be positive because i am interested....
anyway it was all too much trouble for him wasnt it, so in the end i just got the pos/neg test ordered. got result back this afternoon and the lady over the phone said "its negative ok" and i just said thanks and hung up.
I'm upset that the doctor would not allow me access to the hcg levels report.
(thats if i am even pregnant)
I have now been told that because i got 2 x faint positive HPTs its possible that i could have >10 hcg levels in my system to show on the hpts yet not enough to show on the BT result?
i have been told that you need to have at least 20 hcg to show on a BT.
I didnt know that how come the GPs dont tell you this?
I'm sure this probably happens all the time i'm just upset that its happened.
so i'm left here wondering am i still pregnant and its just too early? or should i stop counting my chickens?!?
the doctor was an elderly man, i think he had noooo idea about hcg testing.... :(
