Mum's to be - Mt Ommaney Area

Hello Everyone!

Im a new mum to be due October 22nd!
My wonderful DH has suggested i look for a mothers group to join!
Does anyone know of any around this area?

HJ, go to google and type in "playgroup australia" a website comes up and you can find one in your area ;)

I found that website months ago when I fell pregnant and have remembered it since knew it would come in handy one day.... I'm going to use it for me when I have our baby!
You might find some BB girls on here that live near you too and have other mothers groups you can attend...

Had a look at it - and its pretty good!
was also hoping to find some BB girls that live around same area! will see how that goes!

You should definitely come to the meet-up, there's lots of ppl going, old and new. I've never met anyone before either!! Check out the thread here

I will go too the meet up if i can convince DH too come with me - i would be too shy too go by myself and plus im not too good on the nth side and being sooo close to due date it might be a good idea if he would come!

hi hj, we live in the central parklands estate opposite mt ommaney centre. i'm currently a SAHM and dh works in product development for sealy. i can pretty much meet up on any morning (kids nap in arvo) let me know what works for you.

joshnchloesmummy - sooo sorry it has taken me awhile too get back too you - i have been pretty sick with Gastro! Just starting too feel better now - Hopefully Bub will arrive anyday now also so i can get that out of the way and we can meet up!

you poor thing!! Funny, i got a horrible case of gastro just before i had dd - it ended up triggering contractions and i had her 2 hrs later!! I'm sure it won't be long now.... what hosp are you going to?? i've been fine, went to southbank today it was so nice and kids had a great time.

Well no sign of labour here unfortunally - the odd cramp at top of thighs but thats about it! Im having Bub at the Wesley- have a OB appt tomorrow at 1230 so im hoping she will say Peanuts is engaged and that is just a matter of time - but my gut is telling me im in for an even longer wait!
Today would of been a nice day to go too sth bank! did u wear the kids out?

Goodmorning Christina - Ob appt went okay - im now 2/5 engaged with the possibility of Bub arriving anytime now - however if it dosent than on the 28th at 8pm i go into hospital too be induced with that gel - get monitored for a little while than get sent home and have too come back the next morning at 0630 too have my waters broken, and from there i should have bub sometime that night on the 29th!!!
So i guess it was an okay appt - im freaking about being induced tho!

well hopefully it happens before then - but even if you are induced don't stress, i know so many friends who have been and have had a great birth experience. i'm fine getting sick of being house bound as my car hasn't arrived from adel yet and i am literally stuck in the house with 2 whingeing kids.... ok whinge over

im about too go for a walk - anything too try and jumpstart things!!! but it seems a bit hot outside - i hate the heat!

I was reading all these posts and I'm a reasonably new Mum who lives in Riverhills. I have a three month old daugther called Madison and I find myself getting extremely lonely during the days. There is only so much conversation you can have with a baby before it does your head in. Lol. I would love to meet new people and make some new friends. I moved to Brisbane about a year and a half ago from the Gold Coast and have found it really hard to meet new people.

If your ever interested in meeting up or something then let me know :)

Yep, we did catch up last week. Christina has gone away for the next two weeks, she's gone back to Adelaide for her cousins childs christening I think she said. I can't speak for Christina although I'm sure she would love to, but it would be great catching up. And our daughters will only be four months apart in age which will be great :) And Christina has the most gorgeous little girl, so when they get older they will all be great friends. Haha.

I'm available at any time to catch up really. Gets rather boring just sitting at home when DH is at work. Lol. You can email me hun on kellykennard@bigpond.com :)

Is there maybe a park or something close to everyone (I guess depending on the weather these days.... ) LOL. How far away is that big Forest Lake - Lake away from everyone? Otherwise, any other suggestions??

Not far from me - however was thinking cause of the unpredicatble weather and the kiddies did we want to do the Centenary Tavern - that was we can sit indoors or outdoors and there is a kids big play area?

No idea if it is open yet. The Centerary Taven is just near the Monier but its on Sumners Rd. How does 10am sound for everyone?? Did you enjoy your trip away??
