Thanx for posting those website's guys i appreciate it. I have PCOS and even though i wasnt trying to conceive, i fell pregnant, and i dont believe in abortions and im also very agaisnt it...
I have found that link very useful, thank you!
Hi Hope we all had a great christmas
Good luck SUZ i hope you get that BFP news
well it was day 21 on x mas day for me so this mth it was just to hard to fit in to get to a doc to check my levels
Just wanted to ask you all what do you think about this
Every month from day 21 i always seem to get brown spotting right up untill my af comes to see me i have asked my gyno why i get this and he said he wasnt sure but said most likely as i have pcos
but this month
on day 21 and 22 i had light brown spotting again nothing much but alittle to still be able to say it ws there but since day 23 its gone back to clear cm now
also had sore nipples since day 21 and now im day 24 and my nipples are killing me
I havent had this nipple problem in the past but i have gone upto 100mg so do you think it maybe the reason cause of the clomid making my body do this or do you think its good signs for early pregnancy
Im not to sure on what day i did O so it makes things alittle hard
Any ideas would be great
Good luck to you all hope we all see 2 lines soon
Take care Kellie
Hello everyone,
My name is Fiona. I have been trying to concieve again after a miscarriage in March 2007. I have been trying for 9 months now using the website Fertility Friend. I believe I have been doing everything correct, but I came across an article about PCOS. The symptoms I have seem to be the same as PCOS. Can anyone tell me the symptoms anyone has who definately has PCOS???
Need to know for my own sanity....
Fiona.
Hi all, I too have pcos and have been trying to get pregnant, i found that the clomid made me feel bloody awful and yet other women i know who have pcos had no trouble whatso ever on it. I have been on fsh injections and finally finally had a good result in that i finally made it to having a trigger and now the waiting game begins until the 15th of February. I did ask my fs nurse if i would know any earlier if i was pregga's, and she just looked at me like i was stupid and said that i would get my period. Normally that would probably happen for anyone else but my body just doesn't work like that it bleeds when it wants to unless artificially stimulated. has anyone else had this trouble?? Anyway that's enough of my ranting and i will get off my soap box now. neane
Hi Neane
I have PCOS and went through the Clomid rounds (3 cycles all BFN) after 4 years TTC with DH. In those four years I only ever had spotting. I got my first decent AF visit on the first cycle of Clomid. Turns out my cycle length on clomid was too long so my FS wanted to try other options but said I had to lose at least 30 kg before that. So DH and I though we would take a break and go on a holiday before I got back into weight loss mode. Turns out we conceived two weeks after I finished Clomid. Go figure! As for what will happen to my body after the birth I have no idea. My whole life I have had very irregular periods but at least on Clomid I had something even if my cycle length were between 35 and 42 days. I do know though that when my weight is done i do have bleeds more often.
Anyway all from me.
Jen
 hey macha well done i have been trying to loose weight but everytime i do i seem to put it back on just as quick :wall: but i will get there eventually i wont let that weight demon beat me... my DH and I have been on FSH for two or three months it's all just blurring into one for us now  i also seem to have very long cycles as well, extremely irregular and not ovulating. on the FSH i finally got a big 23mm follicle last week so had trigger injection and just having puregon injections every three days last one on wednesday, have preg test (urine) on the 15th February. It is really hard waiting that long to find out and it's also difficult to tell if i have any preg symptoms cause the injections i am having make my bb's very sore especially heavy, tired am feeling some weird sensations though similiar to cramps but different so who knows.
Thanks heaps, I have PCOS, so do alot of women in my family. I have had a baby with alot of help and after a miscarriage. But this site is great. Again thanks heaps
Hi all, just an update i am now 7 days out from doing blood urine pregnancy test can't wait much longer had last pregynl on wednesday how long did any of you wait to do preg test? i have had really weird twinges and bb's are still sore, i think it might just be from the hormone injections but am not sure. Any help would be great right now...
Anyhoo how is everyone else going... would love to hear. cheers neane.
hey everyone, my name is Hollye and im new to this. i have been diagnosed with pcos and docs started me on metformin which left me feeling quite ill so now im on my first cycle of clomid. everything seems to be going ok, apart from feeling abit of nausa and fatigue. My skin also seems to be breaking out. Does anyone else have this problem on clomid? Im now at day 17 of my cycle and am going for my bloodtest this thursday, hopefully i have ovulated this month. My partner and I have been together for 4 years this april and have been trying to have a baby for 2 years now. I hope clomid works for me. Just wish the side affects would go away. Around when i was meant to be ovulating on day 14 is when i started to break out and get hot flushes and some pain around where my ovaries would be. But im not sure what this could be. If anyone has any insite for me that would be great....
hmmm soo does anyone really write anything in this thread?
oh, i was just wondering, what do all the abrieviations stand for? such as DD, DH etc???
Hollye9188 welcome and all your symptoms i can definetely relate to, are you seeing a fertility specialist (fs) DH i think is dear hubby not sure about DD i too am slowly figuring out what all the abreviations mean like EDD estimated date of delivery, so back to you is your doctor doing any ultrasound to see how the clomid is affecting your follicle growth? from my own experience my fs started me with clomid and also did u/sounds to see if i was producing any follicles, unfortunately after three months and feeling like complete crap and some depression related to the medication my fs decided that i was completely resistant to the clomid and went onto fsh injections (follicle stimulating hormone) which is pretty much one step away for me from doing a full IVF cycle, I'm not sure how common doing fsh cycles are but after discussing this with my fs and DH it was the best option as we aren't in a financial position to do IVF. to cut the long story short.....lol the second cycle of fsh injections worked i had a fantastic response and for the first time had a big juicy lead follicle for which they gave me a trigger injection to make me ovulate and now i'm pregnant, only very early days but still here i am .
If you ever want to talk about how your feeling go right ahead, both ears are open, I know how trying this can be .
Also a few of my girlfriends who have pcos and have been trying for years..... did clomid and went on to have successful pregnancies and beautiful babies, so the moral is what works for one may not work for another.. so again welcome and sorry about me rambling on... cheers neane :)
go to forums help-abbreviations and FAQ's, there's a sticky thread there with the most commonly used abbreviations I printed it out and kept it beside the computer when I first started posting,

hey
thanx for replying. yeah i get my test results tomorrow to see if im ovulating or not. my doc told me about the injections but im kinda hopin not to go that far. are you able to tell me what is involved with these injections? and congrats on ur pregnancy, im very happy for you.. anyway talk soon..
hollye :p
Hey chick,
How did you go did you ovulate? I really hope so. If you have to go onto the fsh injections there not that bad. Have you ever seen a diabetic with an insulin pen? well the pen that you get has a dial up side bit and you just put a very small fine needle onto the end and inject it into the lower part of your stomach it's all sub cutaneous which means it's alot nicer than having an injection into the muscle i won't lie it does sting a little especially after you go up in dose but only for a few seconds and yes it is worth it. I personally found that i had less adverse effects on the fsh than the clomid. The clomid made me feel really really really bad :wall:
extremley moody depressed irritable to the max hot flushes bloated you name it. Whereas the fsh i had a little bit of bloating like your supposed to get when you are about to get your period. sorry just babbling on . What I want to know is how did you go?????
hey darl. i couldnt get my results monday coz my d***head gyno decided to go for a holiday. so i have to wait till 10 this morning to get them... so these fsh injections, when do u have to do them? every day?? do you believe they are the reason you got pg?? and once again congrats!!!
anyway ill post again after 10am and let u know how it goes..mwah

Congratulations that is fantastic news, i hope you and dh shagged like minx, not sure if your allowed to say that sorry if your not but YEAH!!!!!
I hope you get a :bfp: very soon have you decided when your going to test?
I am so excited for you right now...
neane:p
yeah i pretty happy it worked first time round. Today i am meant to be getting my AF but no show yet. So i decided im going to wait till atleast next thursday to get a test. My doc wants to see me on 12th march if AF still hasnt arrived.
I would be pretty lucky if it all happened for me this cycle..thats pretty big luck, i dont think im quite that lucky.
Anyway, how are you doing???
:bluedust: for me...
Still no period....so i guess all i can do is wait. I have started feeling very tired and wondering if this could be a pregnancy sign?? Apart from that i feel ok, i havent been throwing up but feel a little ill. my temp is around 37 but do u get a bit of a high temp before AF??
Im at the confused stage,:wall: just waiting and wondering. im still not getting my hopes up but seeming the doc said i did ovulate then i will be getting my period for sure?!? but then again because i have PCOS, god knows whats going on.
If im not pregnant this time i feel like i should be giving up. dont know why, prob just coz im really tired atm and feeling kinda down.
So fingers crossed for me girls..my next post will be that i have my period or i have discovered i am pregnant, which one will it be???:dunno: anyway take care all of u and i will speak soon xox

Hi- I am new to this forum. Was diagnosed with PCOS at the end of last year.
My hubbie and I are planning to start a family at the end of the year. I have been seeing a chinese accupuncturist and herbalist for 2 months now, to prepare my body for getting pregnant. I have been charting my BBT for almost 2 cycles now and the temps are very irregular, which leads me to think I may not be ovulating. I guess it's only a matter of time before I find out if this is the case.
Just have a few quick questions- 1. What does everyone think about accupuncture and Chinese medicine with assisting in getting pregnant?
2. Are we wise to wait until the end of the year to try to conceive? Or is leaving it longer damaging our chances of conceiving?
Getting a little stressed reading about all of the PCOS posts... it's scary to have no control over your body...
Hey hun and welcome.
I also have PCOS and I am now 6 weeks into my pregnancy. I was ttc for just over 2 years and fell pregnant on my first cycle of clomid.
I have heard the chinese accupuncturist and herbalist can be good for regulating your cycles but i have never been to one.
I was very slack when it came to checking my temps. So theres not too much i can tell you about them, except when ur pg they seem to be higher than usual. Maybe check out firtility friend its a great site that helps you chart your temps to work out if your ovulating.
If you want to wait till the end of the year to start ttc then thats totally up to you. But us who have PCOS dont find it too easy to fall preg, so if you started trying now you still might not be pg by the end of the year. Its alllll up to you.
Dont see PCOS as scary, i seen it more as a wakeup call to get my health back on track etc. We are all here to chat when ever you need to chat. Any questions you have about PCOS i would be happy to answer them to the best of my ability.
I wish you all the luck in the world:pray::D take care xox - Hollye-

Welcome to the site, I think you need to do what feels right for you and your hubby, you can also speak to a gynaecologist about your concerns of are you ovulating or not. Unfortunately with my pcos I did not ovulate naturally nor with the use of clomid and went on to use fsh injections which as you can see was really successful. I like the idea of using a chinese herbalist and acupuncture it is probably a more natural way of doing things. The other consideration and this is not to scare you is that as us woman get older our fertility begins to decline, by the time we hit our 30year mark is like the beginning of a reduction in the chance of falling pregnant this means that we are not as fertile as were when we are at age 20yrs. There are many fantastic information sites here on belly belly to read all about this too. I hope i haven't freaked you out to much.
Hey holly how are you pregga's lady doing. neane.
Thanks for the encouragement. It can get a little lonely when you're dealing with this sort of thing, you don't really think it'll ever be you going through it.. Great to know there are other people who we can all talk to about it and from what I can see many people do have success with conceiving etc. My sister also has PCOS and has 4 year old Twins and another little baby, so I'm not completely freaking out yet, but I do want to stay informed and know about everything I can do to increase my chances... Until then I'll keep reading through the posts and will keep track of all of your progress....
By the way I have 2 questions:
1. Can anyone recommend a great Gyno in Melbourne, close to CBD?
2. Can anyone recommend a naturopath?
My gyno is crap and I'm looking for a new one, who can help me deal with my PCOS...
THANKS
hey,
sorry i cant recommend anyone from melb coz im not from there.
neane, pregnancy is going well. My doc did all the necessary blood tests and they all came back fine, he said my hormones are going up nicley. Had an appointment with my midwife yesterday and she doesnt want to see me again till im 13 weeks coz she said everything is going just fine. These past few days i have been feeling abit off with the nausea and everything, but hey, its all worth it in the end. :D
Hows your pg going??
Take care all xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Hey Holly does the title let you know how i am going... I know i shouldn't complain and I know around the seven week mark the baby/fetus/peanut is doubling in size the hormones are going right out of wack and i feel sick 24/7. Had my first scan yesterday afternoon and have a pic my gynae didn't turn the sound on so we didn't hear the heartbeat but everything is great good position and all that stuff. he wants to see me at 10 weeks for any bloods that i need to have done rescan, then i have to go back at 12 weeks and they look for any signs of down's syndrome, apparently they do this for all women now. Fruit tingles are a god send because they make me burp and i feel better for a few minutes.
hey darl,
Aww i know how you feel about the whole sickness thing. Im over it already  These past couple of days i have begin to feel extreamly s***. I havent had a scan yet coz the doc said i wouldnt be able to see anything anyway. I wanted to have a scan tho. Yeah i have to have the down sydrome blood test at 10 weeks and the ultrasound at 12 weeks. It is something they all do now. I just kinda wish they would let me have an early scan. Apart from that everything seems to be going just fine. My doc told me that my PCOS wont have any affect on the pregnancy as it just affects the "getting pregnant" part. So that was some good news. Did u have the routine blood and urine tests done?? the one where they test for everything from infection to HIV?? didnt realise there would be so much testing, lol..
I have gone off a few things. I hate anything that has any salt in it lol..
anyway take care and ill talk to you soon xoxox
hi girls
my name is ami im 21 and was diagnosed with pcos when i was 13 i never tried chlorim or anything my gyneo put me on a few different types of the pill but they all made me sick then her brilliant idea of just keeping an eye on my ovaries and hopefully it will jus go away cause of my age theory didnt work and on my 16th birthday cysts started to burst. I dont wish that on anyone cause its bloody painful lol
I was always told i wouldnt be able to concieve as the hospital would always just give me painkillers and send me home when the cysts burst and lter on i found out that the fluid inside the cysts can scare you to stop you from having children
but less about the scary stuff i proved the doctors wrong and fell pregnant.
hollye- my emotions were the same as yours except i bought 2twin packs of tests cause i thought the first twipack was lying to me. then when the doctor confirmed it i was happy and crying
Angelzz- when i first found out i was scared to and kept asking why my body but then i realised (and im sorry if this offends some) there are people out there worse off than me at least i can still live basically a normal life i have all my friends and do everyday things that i have always doneand thats when i stopped being scared about pcos i saw it as a growing step for me, and knowing that i had it and the obstacles it decided to throw me i grew stronger a a person, but just remember you do have control over your body cause you can still do everything you have always done :) im not toure about the chinese herbal stuff but one good piece of advice i could give you would be DONT STRESS i fell preg and miscarried and then we tried again but i was stressing about trying to fall preg and i tink thats why i didnt but then we moved away and stopped thinking about it and it came naturally so big thing DONT STRESS LOL
Neane- Morning sickness that lasts all day? i hear ya hunni
my partner owns a family business that does interstate truck driving from perth -sydney/melbourne and when we first found out i was preg i was ihe truck with him for 2 weeks and had the worst sickness i could only live on vegemite toast and crackers. Have you tried drinking salvital? you can get it from the supermarket it tastes a bit odd but it replensihes your body of all of the salts and sugars it has lost.
Hope all you girls are going really well in your pregnancy's
~Aimes~
oh also hollye yeah ur doc is right the pcos gets basically cancelled out by the baby while your preg lol sounds wierd but true at least its one less thing to stress about during the pregnancy
hey ami, and welcome.
First congrats on ur preg..not to long to wait now. Im pretty nervous about this pregnancy. I just can not wait till i get to 12 weeks. Now that im in week 7 im spending most of the day in bed coz of the m/s. i have no energy and just feel yuk.
Anyway welcome to our little group and take care..xoxo
im spending most of my days in bed to lol catching up on the sleep as ill be missng out on full nights sleep very shortly lol
thanks for the welcoming :)
