Lol *claim* :D
Emma and Lauren, ya know what they say about private school girls ey ;) Well I guess that explains why y'all are here hahahaha :D Hi Lauren, I'm Donna :) talked to you in another thread you posted, I believe?? Welcome to BB, hope you enjoy your stay. Congrats on the little tiger, welcome to the mad, mad world of motherhood lol!
I was public all the way, lol we didn't even call our high school 'Gladdy High' or anything, just 'State High' - if you live in the area and ask what school someone goes to, and they just go, 'State', you know they mean Gladstone State High lol... funnily enough there are like five other state high schools in town but for some reason we called GSHS 'State' :/
I had a nervous breakdown halfway through grade 12, that was awesome fun... graduated but never did the QCS so didn't get an OP or anything, and completing year 12 on its own was pretty useless lol... I could have left at the end of grade 10 and got an apprenticeship (was offered one and everything) but my parents were buttheads and were convinced I was gonna go to uni and be a brain surgeon or something so they wouldn't let me leave school :(
AND NOW LOOK AT ME, MUM AND DAD - haven't had a full-time job in my entire life lol, got knocked up at 20 and now I'm not even 23, married and 2 kids, no career on the horizon hahaha :D So all your good intentions amounted to zilch!!
It's pretty funny but. Coulda done worse for myself I spose lol, ever since I was a kid I just wanted to get married and be a mum so I'm quite content.
Kirra that is messed up that they didn't let you finish school!! A mate of mine found herself in the family way (lol I love that saying) at 15 and she only missed a week before the birth and took a month off when bub arrived to do the bonding thing, then back to school to finish off up until year 12!! And this is in a smallish town where there's sweet fa support or programs for teen mums, the school just pretended she was getting fat hahaha, they totally ignored it because they didn't want to be seen to 'encourage' other chicks to do the same :/ She did get a bit distracting as she got bigger lol, we were always sitting in class next to her rubbing her belly and she'd let us feel it kick lol, she acted like it was so normal that we all just accepted it, kwim?? Yeah, we were excited as hell but it was like, 'yeah so B is preggers, pfft' at the same time hehehe.
Ali hope everything goes well with the c-sec, personally I'm not fussed on how bubs get out, provided they get there safely ey :D So whatever works, it's all worth the crap in the end tho... that being said, definitely no more babies for me lol, this pregnancy has confirmed that my body just isn't up to it again :( That's alright tho, two was always the plan so I'm done hahaha!!
Donna: lol thats so wierd same with my parents, i wanted to leave at yr 10 and do mechanics apprenticeship n they r like 'nope were paying 10k a yr you are gonna do yr 12 and goto uni', so i passed yr 12 got 82 in my tee somehow (no idea cause i wagged most days), and then went to uni for 3 weeks n quit and became a skimpy hahha
and i always wanted to be a mum too actually scared a few bf's off before DP cause after like a month id be all like aww babies and theyd run away! LOL trapped DP though mwahaha
first night in about 3 months that i just CBF cooking so got pizza for DP and kfc for me...and get this i asked for a sauce and the lady said oh we dont give them out for free anymore...wtf like kfc is being effected by the economic crisis so they charge 30c for a bloody sauce...i was offended!
:o NO FREE SAUCE?!
Sacrilege. Nothing less. I'd be writing a very strongly-worded letter to... someone lol.
I went thru the Macca's drive-thru the other week and they didn't give me any sauce for my McNuggets, despite me repeating TWICE that I wanted BBQ lol...
I just cbf'd parking up and going into the restaurant to demand sauce lol, I don't think I was dressed anyways hahah :) I mean, I was dressed, just in crap clothes lol, DH thinks I'm weird for putting on something other than pj's to go thru the drive-thru, but I'm paranoid about, for instance, getting pulled up by cops and made to 'step out of the car' hahaha and then have half the town drive past going 'OMG LOL SHE'S NOT WEARING ANY PANTS!!!' hehehe :D
I cooked DH stroganoff for dinner, cbf'd divvying it up before adding the mushrooms lol so I haven't eaten, I've really gone off food in general this pg, with Emily I was eating CONSTANTLY but I've really had to force myself to eat one or two meals a day this time around... made a caramel slice but, just waiting for the chocolate top to harden up and I'll have a bit of that before I hit the sack... real nutritious hahaha :D
hahahaaha hey donna thanks for the warm welcome.
my father said the funniest thing today
apperntly my baby name choices are "too exotic"
and i should call my child real names like
jack josh, sarah and jane
he is just so funny sometimes......
Hi guys, welcome to all the newbies!
Sorry for no personals, I have a massive headache and really can't be bothere catching up on the posts i've not read (sorry)
I'm slowly approaching 30 weeks :D exciting times ahead! Although I'm not coping with pregnancy at all.
How is everyone?
Well family tradtion as i am scottish is to have the first born son with a scottish name so like my brother is Callum cousin is Alistair etc..
So im thinking either Alec or Mylor and for girls as i have free choice :D i was thinking Alysis or Elia.
But apperntly there way to out there for dads liking although mum loves Alec and Alysis
i want to use all the names which means lots of babies ahahaha
Donna - the only way I am happy for CS is that the physio and all the research I have done said that whith the level of flexibility I have in my legs there is no way she can come out vaginally. So it is a medically necessary CS.
Sal - Yep I am over being pg too. Resting is boring. But you are nearing being more PG than you have ever been, so it is all new territory. Don't worry, Bubbles will be fine, they know that you are doing all you can to grow them big and healthy and strong.
Lauren - When it comes down to it though, Your baby, Your choice. Your Dad won't be the one filling out the forms for the birth certificate. He just might be a bit concerned about payouts when Tiger is growing up.
I was a private school girl too (crappy school though). I never went to Uni, but have held down a few decent jobs. I only left my last job because we got sent 3000km away. That was a great job too. I do plan on doing adult re-entry to Uni though for Nursing and Midwifery in a few years time, maybe when there are more Uni's offering it externally. At the moment UniSA are the only ones doing external Mid. I was one of the 'good girls' at school.
donna: yes DP thinks its ridiculous that i put on clothes/eyeliner to go up the shops or drive thru, but i will always remember when i was skimpying and one of the girls left the pub in just her bra and shorties cause she lived down the road and she got into a minor car crash and had to stand on the side of the freeway in bra and shorties and talk to the cops etc....**** i wuda been mortified so now i always make sure i look decent...and i always wear singlet and undies to bed cause i have this idea that if the house goes up in flames i dont wanna run out the door naked LOL
lauren: i know what u mean abt names, i wanted something different but not too wierd, its been hard for me and DP to decide on names (he refuses to belive the chance we may have a boy so wont have any input)
Everyone is 100% sure im having a boy ahahaah.
DF wont consider a girl as an option because hes certain so i have the same issue.
ahhhhhh
and amazing news
my first day i havent thrown up in a good 4 weeks woooooooo!
OMG CONGRATS EMMA AND PHIL :D
I should probably leave this one for Emma to announce, I'm sorry Emma I'm just so excited for you guys!!
*dances*
Can't wait till she gets back to let us all know how it went and how she's doing :D
What a great way to start my morning lol, log into Facebook and there it is for me hehehe :D
I can't stop smiling even though DD is throwing handfuls of kibble all over the kitchen :/
Yaaaaaaayyyyyyyy for Emma!!! :D Good job hun, I'm stoked for you :D
I have missed sooooo much, i only went to perth for the weekend and that took me 30 mins to read what i missed!
welcome Lauren. what is your due date? were about a month apart.
and emma! i saw it on facebook too! its so exciting! congratulations.
no news here, except wieghed myself and ive lost 5 kilos this pregnancy. is that bad? im not worried, ive just been put off food and have the same thing as donna, i cant seem to eat alot this pregnancy but with maddie i scoffed my face.
well hope you are all well.
oh and sally, exciting your almost 30 weeks. how is it all going?
oh just noticed your due date lauren. doesnt matter lol.
hey how is everyone?
its been very quiet.
i have a question for the girls that have felt their baby kick.
im only 13 and 5 days but by the size of the baby from ultra sound its about 14 weeks and 5 days (dont know if that matters)
i have been told that with the second baby you feel it move earlier than the first because you now recognise the feeling. well today i swear for about 30 mins i could feel lttle butterfly feelings but then all of a sudden there were 2 kicks and hten about 5 minutes later another one and i saw my tummy move but even if it was a kick it shouldn't be this hard yet right?
has anyone else experienced really early kicking?
i have also had a thing iwth my bowels in the past which my doctor says is the same kind of thing/feeling ( i think its to high up now) and was going to get it fixed but then fell pregnant and they said will have the tests/operations after the baby but havent had the feeling since ive been pregnant.
hope this makes sense, reading it back it doesnt make any sense. lol
anyway hope every one is well.
Gothmum, any signs that it will all happen soon?
i used to get gas which used to feel like strong kicks, but i wasnt pregnant lol...dunno maybe its possible although dont think they would be ard ones at this stage coz they wouldnt be that strong yet but you will be feeling alot more in the next couple weeks anyways so i wouldnt worry too much
i agree sally how is everything going?
Lol it was getting a bit quiet around here :)
Amy, I first felt DD kick at around 22 weeks, and tbh I can't really remember how far along it was that I felt this one for the first time - probably a bit earlier as I knew what to look for, as you say, but I do know it was much longer before I had any visible tummy movements/DH could feel it because when I fell pg with DD, I was very taut and trim but hadn't lost all the baby weight and got rid of the pudge this time, so there was a bit more flesh for the kicks to filter through before they could be felt on the outside hahah :)
And, this will probably sound NUTS, but I quite often felt phantom kicks all over my abdomen (as though I were carrying a well-developed bub, not a half-cooked one) the entire time between DD's birth and falling pg again!! It didn't seem to be related to things like gas or illness or anything, I think it might just have been psychological. No idea why I would feel kicking (sometimes very strong, other times just little flutters) but there you have it... have any other girls had that?? I'm probably just odd lol.
I think all women and all pregnancies are different - for instance I started showing a bump with DD at about 8 weeks, other girls I know had smooth, flat bellies right up till about 7 months!! Just enjoy it hun, it's reassuring to feel bub kicking (or at least *think* it's bub kicking), just don't panic if you don't feel it regularly, at this stage it will be fairly sporadic so don't freak out if you don't feel it again for a week or two lol :)
In other news, nah, nothing much happening with me :( Finally got around to washing all the new baby clothes/blankies etc today so she can make her appearance now that I'm about 90% organised hahah (everything else just involves packing my hospital bags and making sure the fridge is stocked so DH doesn't starve or live on Hungry Jack's while I'm gone lol)... every night as I'm going to bed I start getting pains but they go within an hour so nothing terribly exciting to report. Had my 'last' ante appt yesterday and doctor said she's engaged, could be tonight, could be a week from now lol :( I hate that there's no definite deadline on them!! This is half the reason I demanded DD be induced lol, I wanted to just KNOW when she was coming rather than waiting around for her :)
So if anybody has any tips on how to get things moving along lol, I'd appreciate them :)
How's everyone else doing? Any exciting plans for the weekend I need to be jealous of? :)
I want to show!
ahahah its still all sureal to me....
I dont even have the slightest bump and its annoying. As for exciting plans we havent really got any... its our 2 years since we've been together tonight but we have little munchkin Layla-Jai so it will just be a quiet night. Oh and Beau isnt to happy about the fact its an aniversary and there won't be any love making ahahahaha my poor baby
Ah the joys of being pregnant as a younger couple.
Hows everyone doing?
Pregnancy's going well?
thanks girls, i have worked out that it is the baby i can feel, but very very light kicks and they suprise me lol. but yeah cant feel them from the outside yet. i also used to get the gas kicking lol but its feels abit different.
gothmum- exciting you have nearly everything ready, hopefully it will happen soon! i have heard eating hot curries, having sex, having a warm/hot bath, drinking rasberry leaf tea, going on a bumpy drive.... umm cant think of any more, can help getting labour started, someof them are old wives tales.but try it. oh and caster oil. but im not keen on that one.
Lauren- congrats on 2 years!
you will prob start showing in the next few weeks. i have just started showing. its feeling more real now coz i can feel it and see it.
its hard to beleive it all when you have no physical proof but dont worry it will happen soon enough. do you sleep on your tummy? when you sleep on your tummy it could hurt when you make up in the morning, coz the baby is getting too big, i got that from about 10 weeks. i try to sleep on my side but every morning i wake up on my tummy lol. so that could be an indication of when you might start to show.
im making tamarillo chutney today, they people behind us a have a tamarillo tree and it hangs over our fence (they dont get any and we get it all, lol) so asked my mum about htem and she said they make really yummy chutney so im going to try that today. its storming here and has been for the last couple of days so trying to stay inside and do homely things lol.
well have a good day every one!
take care x
