Good mcn for big night wetter(newbie q)

Hi Ladies,

We have just converted to the wonderful world of cloth this past month... well still part time. DD is a BIG wetter at night and Im using terry during the day which I find Im changing around once an hour so Im still putting her in sposies at night as I dont want her sleeping in a wet terry.
So cutting a short story long, what is a good mcn known for night time? Ive just ordered some all in one baby beehinds but Im thinking I want to use them for if we go out during the day for convenience as Im happy to use terry when at home but have also read that they arent that good for night...??
I know different strokes for different folks, but any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Peach - I don't know much about night nappies, but I think I've heard of people using Bamboo Baby Beehinds as a night nappy cause they're very absorbent.

People use baby beehinds bamboo fitteds at night, with a wool cover over the top, but I found my kids outpeed that pretty quickly. I think miss m was outwetting it at around 6 months.

I can recommend what works here though for my heavy wetters - just like other nappies, its all trial and error what works with yours though.

The following all work great :)

Green kids pockets (stuffed to the max), genesa forge super nights, bubblebubs good night sleep tight, snoozywuns (hard to get hold of though), ticklefish tots, ummm can't think tonight - brain dead... might be back with more.

Some can be hard to get hold of, but are well worth it. If you don't want to shell out a lot of cash try the second hand sites and see if there are any on there going cheap so you find out what works for you :D

I was using BBH fitteds, then a GK bamboo insert, then a bamboo sherpa fitted.
That was working for me (not a NN recommendation I know...sorry) DS is too sensitive though, so we are in sposies over night now :(

I bought a Bonnibums night nappy the other day and it's fantastic!

Nate outwees the BBH fitteds too, but I have some bamboo boosters and if I boost them they aren't too bad.

I also have a Sandy's but haven't used it yet.

Wool soakers - never thought I would be converted but I love love love mine.
Also made myself some fleece longies (like trackies but with a double layer of fleece in the 'wet zone') which are great too.

I ordered a wool cover from BBH, is this very different to a soaker? There are way too many to choose from!

I think a soaker absorbs more? & you have to lanolise a soaker.
Don't think you have to lanolise a cover??

I sold my wool covers that I had from baby beehinds, the rise wasn't high enough to cover some of the night nappies, so they didn't do what they were supposed to. Plus, I like using my longies and shorties for winter/summer as pj bottoms. Plus - DS got an allergic reaction from the elastic on the baby beehinds covers too.

Hmmm, so would I still use wool cover during the day? What about bum genius?? Thanks again!

Bumgenius have a PUL outer so no wool needed.

MissyMoo - should I insert here that both my kids can outpee a GF super nights? ;) I have to have an extra booster on the outside of it and its always wet in the morning.

Googled genesa earlier... $40! Is that what Im looking at?
Arimeh- What is the super best of all you have tried in your opinion?? Green kids pockets? Would I be better using a pocket nappy? So many nappies!

We also use the BBB for night time (with boosting and wool cover) - but he's outpeeing them most of the time too!

Never thought of using Greenkids extra boosted... that might be a good option for his day sleep! Thanks Mel!

I'm tempted to try the GFSN on MissyMoo's recommendation (even if they don't work for your kids, Mel!) Now to see how the budget will stretch... :lol:

Nettie - they do work - if I chuck an extra booster on the outside. I have heaps of itti trifolds, so I just whack one of those on the outside - no biggie. I do that with most of the night nappies I have (except for green kids) even snoozywuns (the new versions seem to be not as absorbent as the bulky older versions especially). I just think my kids pee through everything.

Peach - hard to say what is the best. I love my older style snoozy's, they are awesome, and yes I love my green kids cos the pockets dry quick and I just have extra inserts so I've always got some ready to make up if I haven't had time to do them.

peach - NN are generally more expensive then normal nappies due to the amount of bamboo that is in them.

Ive actually been using an eco wool pocket for Vy at night. Works a treat..but I dont boost it with the booster that comes with it...ive made my own :)

So in your cloth expert opinions, for cost and effecivness would I be better getting a genesa or a pocket? Sorry to be asking the same question over and over! With pockets could I use the magic-all inserts and then terry which I already have? And then I could use it during the day too...
Its diffficult as I would hate to pay $40 then not be happy... not to mention if I order and more cloth I think DP will have a fit ;) But then would pocket work out the same price once I got a cover and boosters? Sorry again to be hassling!
