DS is almost 17 months and weighs about 11kgs, he's quite long though and it's getting harder and harder to put his legs and arms through the restraints that come from the top and side. Can I put just his arms in??
TIA.

his legs? Im confused.
DS1 is 3 and a half and he is in a maxi rider with a 5 point harness, is that the one you are talking about?
what do you mean arms and legs??? youve lost me?? you should put arms through and then buckle him up, you shouldnt have to out legs through anything!
are you undoing the restraint each time?
I have a maxi rider, but no leg bits?
The maxi rider comes with a 5 point harness. When it's used as a booster seat down the track you don't use the 5 point harness, but you can get an anti-submarining clip instead, so there is still a strap between the legs.
At that age, you most definitely need to use the full 5 point harness - it would be extremely unsafe without it. Perhaps you could go back to where you bought it and get them to help you with it? My two DSs are in maxi riders at 4 1/2 and nearly 3, and the 5 point harness still fits very easily.
The leg bit MR is talking about (i think!) is the buckle that comes up between their legs
The 5 point safety harness is recommended until 18 kgs on the maxi rider. After that you can use the H harness with the anti-submarining clip. We will be using this until DD is old enough to sit on the seat without any booster and use an adult seatbelt. I think the recommendation is for children 18-26 kgs to use a booster and the H harness.
We have the Meridian in my car and the Maxi Rider in DH's. In the Meridian, we put his arms and legs through the side restraints that clip into the buckle. All I'm asking is do we do the same in the Maxi Rider.
Um, yes we undo the restraint each time, how would be be able to get him out!
i have 2 maxi rider AHR , both kids are usuing the 5 point harness . so the arms go throgh the arm holes and the anti submarining clip goes between their legs . and the buckle rests abouve thier crotch . thier legs dangle free but are suppourted at the crotch by the anti submaring clip .
maybe the meridian does up differnt, but i was under the impression that all car seats did up the same .
are his arms and legs going through the same loops ? im confused with what your saying*straches head*
Aaaaa, so Im using a 5 point harness ;)?
yes DM , a 5 pnt harness comes standard in all baby seats , its the booster seats (like Maxi riders ) that you can use a 5 pt harness ,a H harness and an adult seat belt !
sequoia maybe get someone at a baby shop to give you a quick demo on how to use the maxirider mor maybe check youtube and see if there are any vidoe on there!
Did you get a DVD with your Maxi Rider? If not I have a spare one I can send to you if you like.
Uh, yeah, definitely only arms! Wow, doesnt your little one protest with his legs through the arm straps?
