So we had our Pead's appointment today.
Good first....He was ESTATIC :leap: that M's legs have straighted to normal as he put it. He said it must of taken alot of work ect and because of it M wont need to have shunts put in his hips  :leap: can you tell im over the moon about it :D
bad news...we need speach therapy, and an OT. M would be lucky to say 5 words. He is highly intellegant dont get me wrong, he looks when you call him and he can follow 'commands' but he is unable to 'answer' and there is a defent block. He screams when he wants to be verbal an the words he does say are
Dinosaur
WOW
Mama
Ball
yay
I admit it..I do get alittle upset when I hear how well our baby buddies are talking but I have to remember my little man has brain damage still to what degree we still dont know :(
OT is for his 2 dimension seeing. eg doc puled out a puzzle that had a small and a large circle. Put out the cirlce cut outs and M put them promptly back into were they belonged, now take them circles back out and turn the puzzle around the other way and he still tries to put the circles in were he 'thinks's they should go the first time IYKWIM, He is also very unco and stumbles alot. He can open things and gets very frustrated and throws the item then.
I voiced our concern to the pead that we are worried that he may be excessively hypo...he hits, punches, screams, kicks and when you ask him to stop he continuous to do it laughing.
Thats it we've hit another fork in the road.....its a little depressing because all my boys now have had some form of speech therapy but I can so see the positive in what we're about to enbark on. I am also very happy to be doing it now, as I dont want to be doing all these 'things' and therapies when he's at kinder or at school. Its hard to do then and so much easier to get him into good habits now whilst he's so young.
Thanks for reading :) keep smiling and remember while you think your doing it hard...there is always someone in the world worse off then you
