Oil stains in driveway

So the dreaded phone call happened. My real estate wants to do another inspection.

My mums car has been leaking oil on my driveway whenever she comes over so now theres a big stain and i know they go ape over that kind of stuff.

Whats the best way to get rid of it?

If it is pooled you can use kitty litter (just the cheapo stuff) and grind it in (pop some boots on first) and then maybe some dishwashing detergent with a wire broom/brush.
There are commercial products you can buy at Mitre 10/Bunnings too.

Try truck wash and warm water :) if you can get a hold of a gerny, gerny it first pour some truck wash on it scrub it with a broom and then gerny again thats what we do :)

Yep, I was going to suggest exactly what Mak said. We've had great success with that.

if its concreet. paint thinner. DH did that to a oil stain we had it made most of it come off. the rest came off with a broom...

i've been told that coca cola does the trick

but i've never tried it myself so i cant speak from experience.

Yep, kitty litter is great. We use to use it at work for all the oil stains from the Trucks.

Petrol works well too we had a MASSIVE oil spill on our driveway (about 5 litres :o) and its almost completely gone.

just pour on, scrub well with a broom and rinse with the hose.

Don't use coke. I tried it and it actually it made it slightly worse
I think I'll try some truck wash myself

I use degreaser :) If the stains are old u might have to do it a couple times.

My sump plug was leaking and didnt notice for a few weeks, I used degreaser, gave it a scrub with a hard broom and hosed the excess off. Worked a treat :)

I used talcum powder, it soaked everything up and the rest came off with a broom and a good scrub

Bicarb is meant to be able to get it off too. It tells you on the box.

I've used bicarb. Its sposed to absorb it. Didn't work to great, but we probably didn't do it right. Didn't put in a huge effort.
Let us know what works though :)

My oil stains are dry so I'm still trying to find out how to get old stains out.

I'm the same as DaniellaBella, got older stains in our garage (so its on concrete). Anyone know any ideas? We tried degreaser, it didn't really work.
