When Do YOU test when TTC?

How many days (DPO) do you test? Or do you wait to miss your period? or until you are a week or so late?

Im wondering when the best time is ! I don't want to waste the tests lol

I try to wait until 14 dpo (when period is due) but usually I start testing from 10 dpo :redface: Anything before that will generally not work, even though people occassionally do get bfp's earlier but it's rare.

I generally test at 14 DPO and then every week after that - for me it's always a Friday. It means that there's a whole week of growing and stuff in between tests, although with this pregnancy I had weird spotting (suspect implantation bleed) which stopped after one afternoon so tested on the Thursday (and then the Friday as well, cause the Thursday was April Fools' Day!!!)

12 DPO (day AF is due) is the earliest I've ever gotten a BFP. With this PG I was convinced I was PG from 4 DPO and tested at like 10 DPO, 11 DPO and 12 DPO. The first two tests were negative and the third was VERY faint positive. I would wait until the day your period is due if you don't want to waste tests.

Hi, It depends on what type if test you are using. If you use a sensitive test such as first response HPT then you can test up to 6 days before your missed period but keep in mind that only about 40% of women actually get a BFP before thier missed period. If you don't want to waste tests then maybe just test the day after your missed period and then every 5 or so days there after if you don't initally get a BFP. Good luck babe! I am convinced I am UTD and have been testing since 6DPO...LOL. Of course they've all been negative so far, but I can't help it, I'm a POAS addict!! My last pregnancy I got a BFP at 8DPO, so now I'm getting disappointed at getting BFN's, even though I know it's still very early to be testing (9 DPO today). I would recommend holding out testing as long as you can, for your own sanity, LOL.

I'm impatient and always ended up testing about 3-4 days before AF due. Learned pretty quickly that you need to test 1st thing in morning to get strongest line. With this pg I tested 4 days early in the evening and got the faintest line that we were trying to guess if it was really there, then we tested the next morning with 1st wee of day and it was an obvious line.

I wait until AF is due generally. Maybe if I had some tests at home at the time I might be tempted to test earlier.

I tested 3 days after I had some extrememly painful cramping - which I now put down as implantation. That would have been 10DPO

I've started my testing...10 dpo today and bfn :doh: :rolleyes:

I test from the day before my luteal phase usually ends (so 11DPO onwards). Got my BFP at 12 DPO (very very feint).

I test from about 7 DPO. Have got faint positives from about 8/9 DPO. I buy cheap tests from ebay when I'm TTC because I'm a serial tester.

With DD I tested at 12dpo and got my BFP but since we've been trying for #2 and I don't want to get disappointed as I know how upsetting it is to get AF every month I don't bother testing now until AF is 1 or 2 days late.

Well ladies Im four days late now. So should I test ! ? ARgh Im nervous :)
