I thought if I exclusively BF I wouldn't get AF back for some time. Its been 16 weeks since DD's birth and she has just arrived. I'd been feeling it the last few days but was hoping I was wrong. How can this be? GRrrrrrrrrr

Oh isn't that just a total pain in the ass!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're just the lucky ones. I got AF back at 8 weeks, and regluarly for a few cycles afterwards, and I was exclusively breastfeeding day and night!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally ripped off! My body decides to be normal and regular right when I didn't want it to be!!!!
Oh I hear you! 6 weeks post natal here! and exclusively feeding!
oh hun thats poo!!! FWIW i got mine back at 12 weeks, fully breastfed day night, was a rude shock
I got mine by six weeks each time even though I was still bf it sucks doesn't it.
Bummer. I got mine back pretty fast after DS1 was born.
Good to see i'm not the only one that got them back early! (Well not good but you know what i mean ;) ) I've exclusively BF both girls and with DD1 i didn't get them back til she was over 6 months old, but with DD2 she was 7 weeks old! I was very unimpressed lol
Yup, 7 weeks here too. Poor DH heard me swearing in the bathroom and thought something was terribly wrong!
Happened to me too :( I felt so ripped off getting AF 4 months after DD was born and I was feeding her 6 times a day. But, in a strange twist, she didnt come to visit again til the 10 month mark?!?
Poo poo poo! I think we were all ripped off LOL, I thought I wouldn't need birth control for some time - so much for the advice I was given that I'd be safe while BF...can't believe it's me saying this  I haven't been on BC for over 6 years.
Do the change in hormones affect your milk because DD hasn't been that interested in feeding the last few days & has been quite grisley?
Yep, sucks doesn't it! Ambah was 16 weeks old when AF arrived as well :(
With the arrival of AF, your milk will most likely be upsetting dd. Just persist, she'll feed when she's ready again.
I got AF third month after DD was born fully breast fed as well, i was so upset:(
I got mine back the week before Carmelo was 4 months as well :(
He hadn't even dropped a night feed either... crapola!
With Luke, I didn't get it back at all until I had completely weaned... and he was down to 2 feeds a day for a while before he finished. AF didn't come back until about a month after I had completely stopped... which I guess is comforting as next time may be different?!
It'll probably cause a bit of fussing, getting my period still caused fussing up until Jazz weaned a few weeks ago, but it's nothing major, only lasts a few days at most, and she'll get used to it :)
All I can say Dusty is bums bums bums to that. Was discussing the same think to a close friend today would you believe, she's had a similar experience.
*hands up* yep AF arrived here after about 4 mnths too. It would come semi-regularly every 4-6 weeks. DS would also be fussy feeding when AF arrived, some months were worse then others but we kept going and he got over it pretty quickly :D
I'm at 8 months and still no AF. I am starting to think about it and maybe there is something wrong with me....but after reading thru posts I think it just comes back wenever....Too bad if we wanted to try again tho..what do you do then?
My nephew dropped a night feed and my sister got her's back after 4 months. DD was sucky with keeping my supply up so 3 months here
