So, next Saturday is the day DF and I get married - and I dont know what color eyeshadow to wear ...
I have blue eyes, mediumish round eyes, fair skin.
My dress is white with a rich Gold lace underneath the breast piece. Wedding will be at 5pm :)
What would you suggest?
I would suggest natural rather than overdone. Makesure you have a few good trial runs before hand and mascara is a definite to make your eyes pop in photos.
Definitely neutral eyes - maybe with a touch of smoke, but stick to bones and browns instead of whites, charcoals and blacks! The warm tone of the gold will make a perfect set-up for a gorgeous neutral eye with bone-coloured shadow up to the brow, a tan/pale brown on the lid and a darker brown blended into the crease and outwards, and lashings of rich black mascara and some eyeliner - I stick to black as a rule of thumb but if you're going for a softer look, try a dark brown instead :) If the dress and wedding theme suits, you might even want to go with a gorgeous 50's cat-eye flick of liquid liner :)
Because it's an evening 'do, you can either keep it traditionally bridal, or amp it up with a smokier eye in the same shades of brown! And my favourite part of this type of look for eyes is, your eyes pop enough to get away with a slick of pale pink gloss and a touch of blush, but are not so overdone you can't whip out a fire-engine red lip to take the spotlight!

When you do professional make up you normally have a base colour and a blend colour and a finish or edge colour. I think light gold would be a nice base colour, a darker gold for blend, and white or charcoal for the edging.
What colour is your hair?
My hair is dark brown with a caramel and blond slice right through, but will have a classic upstyle with a side fringe kind of draping the side of my face (if that makes sense)
Are you doing your own make up?
If so, eyeshadow pallets come in the colours that work together.
I would go for neutral colours with gold highlights.....
Edit- not sure if gold works with blue eyes?

Yes, I will be doing my own make up - having my hair professionally done tho! I actually just had a thought of the eyeshadow pallets - just not sure which color, did think about a dark burgundy type color ....:
Oh - should I have my hair done before my make up? Just thinking hair first so the make up is fresh ...
Revlon has an eyeshadow palette specifically for blue eyes.
YouTube for videos on how to do your eyes, I found some fab vids just then.
Also- 1 brand- think it's covergirl? Have instructions on how to apply :)

Another thought- do you have a body shop near you? Or an ingalot? They will show you how to do the eyeshadow perfectly.

Ok. I was trying to work out if you're more a brunette with summer/ winter colouring in which case I'd suggest soft pinks and or greys. But as you have blond/caramel and your dress has gold, then beiges and browns would be better. (these are more spring/autumn colours in the old colour my face palatte thing)
Blue and yellow are complementary colours, so goldish eyeshadow will work well. Use a brown or brown/black eyeliner and same colour for mascara (try a waterproof one).
Use a light colour on your lower part of your upper lid. On your upper part use a slightly more bronzed colour. Use a darker colour along the ridge that separates the upper and lower parts (outside only). You can also smudge the darker colour along the eyeliner or on it's own on the lower lid below your eye. It really depends on the shape of your eyes. Play around with it.
Sometimes the lightest colour looks best on the upper lid and yhe middle colour on the lower lid. Dont pluck your eyebrows too thin. Too thin eyebrows age the face and give a surprised look.

Thanks Tashybabe - will have to play around with my eye shadow and what i have in the cupboard at the moment. Normally i wear a dark grey color which brings my eyes out alot, but considering this is my Wedding day I dont wanna look like Im going to work - but I dont wanna look like a drag queen either! Will take some pics of my eyes too just to see how they look in pics!:

If you don't want to do it yourself, but don't really want to pay for it either, you could see if there is a makeup school near you. You can normally get one of the semi-pros to do it for free as long as they can have a pic for their portfolio.
TBH I would suggest you get a pallet with some mauve in it - it will really do magic things with your eyes. Soft nude lips and bronzer as blush - beautiful! Oh I am a beauty therapist by the way so my offer was a real one :) goodluck!
If you normally use grey, then that pallette may work best for you. Using soft pinks/mauve with a grey shadow looks amazing. You want it to bring out your face/eyes. The wrong pallette can make you looked washed out. So play with it, take photos of yourself and then look at them on a big screen like your computer. it will help you make an objective decision. Also, you want something simple enough that you can do when you're nervous on your wedding day.
