all i can think of is Rohan draining them completely?

With him feeling abit off (I hope im thinking of the right person!) could he not be draining you aswell?
That being said, Im a BFing ammature.. so I dont have any idea and am just going off what Ive researched (determination to make it work next time :) ) . It just goes to show how every baby and every BFing experience is different. I hope u are feeling better soon xox

Oh poor you! I got a blocked duct after feeding for about 20months. It is strange how things can be just fine and then all of a sudden you end up with problems... I very nearly had to get a needle put into the little white blockage on my nipple. I was just lucky that when the DR looked at it it started to unblock... IT makes you feel aweful tho
That must be really frustrating. I wonder if it could be something like your bra being too tight or the way you are sleeping? Maybe going braless for a while and trying to keep that side pressure free - ie don't sleep on that side, avoid using a sling that presses on that side etc - might help.
I think it may be sleeping position. I pretty much am braless. I wear a cross over feeding top thing. so its very loose. I was also thinking the breastpads I ahve are too thick around the edge & maybe thats putting pressure on 1 spot while I sleep. I dunno.
Its not the same breast either & its on the cleavage side so the inner side of my breast.
Its insanely sensitive atm & red over pretty much that whole half of the breast, hot to touch etc. I have antibiotics here but I don't want to take them. I have just pumped that breast as it was getting so sore & now Rohan is feeding on that side also.
I slept with a ice pack on it last night which I couldn't eve feel the col dof because my boob was so hot!
teamed with the killer headache I had all day yesterday & my now stiff neck from the awkward sleep ( between sore boob & 2 big kids making their way into our bed....)
Not as young as I once was I guess LOL
This happened to my gf - she ended up with mastitis due to sleeping on her stomach & squishing her bbies.
don't think sleeping on my stomach is something i have been able to do for a long time. How on earth did you Gf find that comfortable while bfing?!
Maybe it was from sleeping if you have a sore neck too :( And how many kids in the bed? There could have been a little hand, foot, elbow or something squish your boob during the night maybe? Hope it clears up soon!! :hug:
I found submersing my boob in a bowl of water as warm as I could bare for a while then feeding or expressing helped sometimes. :goodluck:
My neck was sore today from sleeping last night with the sore boob & kids in the bed LOL. The night before (to which I woke from with the sore boob) was child free LOL.
I think I have managed to get on top of it again this time. The redness is reducing and its not as painful. I can actually move freely today. Yesterday however, just moving was painful.
Still tender & warm to the touch. Poor little rohan, he likes to kneed the breast & while I am letting him do it once he is on & I am relaxed but Oh my it hurts when he is little hands hit my boob. BUT in saying that the area isn't a place where I can position him so his chin is massaging the breast as he feeds so his little hand kneeding the breast would be helping.
Its so cute when they do that though, like a little kitten.

he has nails like a little kitten also. Too soft to cut just yet, but sharp still.

Jeepers woman!! That duct is blocked well and good! For future reference I always found (and was told by my LC) that holding something that vibrates against your boob will generally unblock a duct. So an electrical tooth brush or a "toy". I guess the vibrations help it pass through. It worked every time for me.
Also they say blocked ducts can be caused by extra creamy/fatty milk... So go your boobies! XD
gee hun that is crazy blocked! I hear you on how strange it is to have problems after such champion feeders. Have you tried heat on the breast? I used a heat pack and put a washer over mine in a shower - it helped heaps.
fingers crossed it clears for you sooner rather than later.
