Confused, one faint positive and then a negative

ok I am totally confused now... I am usually a 26 day cycle, last month was a 28 day cycle... think my body is still adjusting from my D&C (have had 2 cycles since because I was told by my obs that I had to wait till we started to :ttc:) so if I was going to have my usual 26 day that would have been Friday, 28 days Sunday... took a hpt Sat and it was a faint positve (faintest of faintest)but DH saw the second line. I took another Sunday and that was a :bfn:!!?????

NO AF so far even though I have been getting major AF cramping! MAJOR CRAMPING!!!!
so I thought for sure it would be coming but NOTHING... and my boobs are still sore as so I am totally confused!!! The boobs being sore made me convinced I was pg again....

anyone else have this happen??? am I maybe having a chem pregnancy? Or ectopic perhaps? :o

I think ectopics tend to have big increases in HPT early on before dropping off around 6/7 weeks. But if you are concerned, you should see your doctor.

Which tests did you use? If they were different brands they could have different sensitivity. Or even the same brand from different batches can have differing sensitivities. Check out this link: POAS ~ HPT FAQ You might find some answers to your questions there.

How long was left before you viewed the +ve test? reason I am asking is anything read after 10 mins is usually a shadow line giving you a false reading.

If it came up straight away and then tested again on the next pee or later in the day or later in the next day you MIGHT be UTD but the hormone levels might not be strong enough to give a +ve reading other than using first morning urine.

I'd be inclined to wait a week and if AF STILL does not come then buy a decent test like the clear blue digi ones or the first response ones and use it on the very first wee of the day ... if its 3am then test then if its 7am test then itms??

I would NOT automatically jump to conclusions of Chem preg or Ect preg based on what you have said here, it could be too early to get a good preg reading OR your body could still be adjusting .

Wait a week (or at least until the end of this one) and test again

an ectopic would still show as a positive, the Bhcg rises like normal for 6-9weeks!

thanks girls, I used the same test, First Response and first wee in the morning one day after the other... also I stayed with the test and watched it for 3 minutes... I didnt read the test after the 10 minutes had passed cause I know that can give false readings....
I will wait till Wednesday and then if no AF do another test Thursday morning first thing and see what it says... I have never been late before without it not meaning I am pg so fingers crossed I am and its just taking its time showing up on the hpt...

Ok still no AF but major AF cramping and very much how I get the real AF cramps... I had a bit of brown discharge, smear along with my CM that I have been having everyday so not sure if that is the sign it is coming????

Think I will be doing the dash to the toilet every hour now just to see if anything is there on the liner! the dreaded limbo world until next hpt or AF! :shakehead:

And not to gross anyone out and sorry if its TMI :redface: but last time I had my missed miscarriage I was constipated and on the toilet and that is when a big blood clot was 'pushed' out... does anyone else get scared when they have had a misacrriage and 'push' too hard when on the toilet? or am I the only one he thinks this silly! :doh:

I have had 3 miscarriages and never been scared of "pushing it out" because I know its better for it to be out of my body ITMS.

You can always retest now rather than waiting for tomorrow but personally I'd wait longer even Friday as the earliest.

I just did a test this morning and it was a :bfp: :happydance:

Just booked in to see my dr for a blood test to really confirm it so fingers crossed it all works out this time.... I can only :pray:
