That you didn't have for the first? We're lucky enough we can use all the same furniture, rocker, wraps etc as we did for first bub as she was a nice clean baby (lol) and nothing got ruined!
But it means the only new thing we've bought for this bubs is splashing out on a new an expensive bassinet, lol. Wondering what everyone else 'splashed out' on for second or subsequent bubs?
double pram, a new car seat and some more MCNs (obviously! due to having 2 under 2 ...)
also got an activity mat - we borrowed last time, and it's currently loaned to someone else, so when people started asking if we needed anything, we said that ;)
we also bought a very small number of new "special" outfits, but basically nothing.
basically, we're planning on using what we had last time ... I don't envisage needing to get anything else, and so we're saving our pennies ...
I bought my fave sling in a more winter appropriate colour! I'm so lame.
I borrowed a porta cot. I found it invaluable in keeping my newborn safe from my toddler when I had to put him down.
Other than that, double pram, car seat and a few warmer clothes as the seasons were different.
We splashed out on a Strider Plus with the capsule. And that was about it :)
Like you, our first bub was a *clean* bub so nothing got ruined!
yep same as peanutter, a double pram. got a flash one and i love it!
otherwise my DD has everything hand me down, including clothes, shoes, nappies, toys, furniture, monitor etc etc etc lol I just bought her some new clothes... her first lot, size 2! lol.

Do you need to get a double pram? I'm anticipating wearing bubs mostly this time around (have the sling already and didn't have it til a bit later with ds; did have a pram to start with then). We rarely use the stroller with ds now so not sure about the double pram thing.
Buying the second car seat sounds normal (looking at hiring a capsule or two to begin with here)

Well we've bought the toddler seat and capsule for our travel system but I don't think we'll get a lot of use out of the toddler seat as she won't like being stuck down below! So my plan is either she'll walk with the pram or I'll wear bubs and use the stroller for dd (almost 2).
We also bought a strider plus with second seat as we had two only 14 months apart, I also bought a 'sleepy wrap' and I'm in love with it.second carseat, A swing as last time all we had was a bouncer and a couple of new outfits, but as they are both boys didn't really need anything. Mostly just stuff for DS1 as he was going into a big boy bed so he got that, a chest of drawers and a bookshelf
if you walk your first already then i'd say no. but if you like to go for walks for your own exercise, then soemthing to think about. that's what i mainly use mine for now. hth
Leckert - Regarding the double pram - it depends on children and age gap etc (if you are rarely using a stroller now I would say no) - I have 2 years between mine and I didn't get a double pram, but did find one in the hard rubbish which have appropriated - glad we didn't buy one because we use it very little and could have avoided altogether if my back had been up to carrying DS more. We use combo of stroller and Ergo, or stroller and buggy board as DD loves walking and is very happy to walk so use buggy board if just need the occasional burst of speed.
MCNs. Lol I used sposies for DD1 but MCNs are much more readily available and fancier now!
I also bought a hammock for this bub for downstairs and will be getting a new wrap (babywearing style). Oh and we bought her a car capsule because we were lent one for DD1.
She still got plenty of gifts too.
We bought a pusher-trike for Quoll, a new car seat for Pip (cause Quoll would be using Pip's old one) and a big boy bed for Pip so Quoll could use his cot. But the trike was the splurge for us :)
Other things I picked up were a new carrier (my splurge!) and a water / sand table for his first birthday + cozy coupe were also toy splurges that I couldn't afford with first bub. It does feel a bit weird though, Quoll has everything used and Pip has everything new.
Oh yeah, and a chest of drawers & tallboy.
We pretty much bought a new wardrobe because DS2 was an Autumn baby so DS1's summer clothes were ok for a base layer but a bit too skimpy to keep him warm. A new mattress for the hammock. Some mew wraps. Nothing else much.
There is 18 months between my boys. I found myself using my single pram a little more when my second bub was born. DS 2 would go into a sling which meant that I couldn't run after DS1 if he did a runner or just refused to walk. So for his safety he was in the pram.
Generally, I've used a sling less than I thought this time as I found it hard to manage DS1 while wearing DS2.
I use our double pram a fair bit for exercising and walking around our area to park and shops, especially now that DS2 is bigger.
We bought a new car seat for DD1, DD2 went into her old one. One special outfit for coming home in. I bought a new carrier (beetlebums) and sling (breeze) as I had passed my old ones onto others.
Didn't bother with a double pram, I wear DD2 and DD1 uses a stroller or walks. As DD1 (3 next month) walks more and more, the stroller can be used for DD2.

Having 9 and a bit years and a relationship breakdown between babies saw me starting from square one again. New developments that I never had with DD though, include my ergo, a ring sling, MCNs (used terry cloth) and a portacot. Best one so far is a tie between the MCNs and the ergo :)
Even though we had another boy we bought quite a bit of new clothing, completely different seasons plus new bub was a whole kilo lighter at birth than his big brother! Now that he's a couple of months older and we're having a bit of a cold snap he's been wearing a few hand me downs :D
Also got a swing this time around, only because I found one super cheap at the Mattel Factory. I never knew about slings etc when I had DS1 but I got a Close Carrier for DS2 which he absolutely loves! City Select pram with a capsule that just about snaps right on as well as the both seats for when he's a bit bigger.
The rest was for DS1 such a new monitor so new bub could have the Angelcare one, and we'll be getting him a new carseat once Buster has grown out of the capsule. He'll be needing a new bed in a few months time as DS2 will be growing out of the cradle!
Leckert - we got a double pram (City Select) as I'm usually I'm on my own when we go out, just made sense for us. I walk heaps with the both kids and Moo is not really old enough to walk alongside me. Plus we thought it would come in handy for big outings like the zoo or museum where Moo might want to rest his legs too. Moo loves the new pram so he's happy to sit in it. I have been wearing DS2 a lot when we're out but it's nice to have options!
We've a strider capsule on layby for our double pram, even though Elly walks plenty she still likes her pram too and it's easier for me to stop her running away! We already have both seats but the capsule will be especially good as Elly was a small baby and just swam in her carseat. We've upgraded Elly to a booster as well.
Thinking about a mei tai for wearing bubs around the house.
More nappies of course, will still use flats but some are worn out now.
Not bothering with a bassinette, will sell Elly's one as bubs will co-sleep with Elly and I. And not bothering with a cot again either, bubs will eventually go into Elly's toddler bed.
