I've often thought about getting one done. DH has often expressed he would like me to get one done... but I'm a little chicken about the pain! I'm at a point where I think I might be ready.... other than the fact I'm nearly 32 weeks pregnant! Soooo. Would you get a brazillian done for the first time ever...whilst pregnant?
i got my first one done ever when i was preg. and then went back for a second again whilst i was preg. it wasnt was bad as i was expecting. nowhere near as bad
NO!! Not while pregnant!! You are more sensitive! I have had 2 brazilians and laser once down there (waay more painful than waxing but works much better) and I am now 5-6 weeks pregnant and will be shaving until after bubba comes.
I tried to get my legs waxed while pregnant an only made it to the knees before I couldnt bare anymore so brazilian would be way worse!
I have had about 6 done and 1 was when I was 32 weeks preg, I didn't find it any more painful when preg that when not.
i've been having Brazilians since my early 20's and had them done through both my pregnancies. didn't notice it more painful? i think it depends on your pain threshold?
If i didnt't feel bad for the poor person who would have to get between my thunder thighs i would do it! :lol:
I've only ever gotten them done when pregnant, and I don't know what everyone complains about? I do have a high pain tolerance, though.
I have been getting them regularly for years, I'm 31 weeks and still going, and I don't think it hurts any more than usual. Maybe you could get them to start as a bikini wax to see how you cope, then if you're doing ok try for more? Personally, I think it will be great post partum, cleanliness wise etc. I'd say go for it, it can't be more painful than childbirth, and we are both going to be doing that soon whether we like it or not :P
ETA: my pain threshold is terrible, I faint when I stub my toe or jam a finger! I don't think it is so much painful as just a bit unpleasant, it certainly doesn't hurt once they are all done waxing, and there is no itching or discomfort with regrowth.
I get a brazillian regularly and have done through pg, I am getting one on Thursday in readiness for labour.
I've been having them done every six weeks since I was 17. I dont find them painful at all normally but I must admit I do find them a little painful whilst I have been pregnant. I will be continuing to have them done right up until the birth of my bub. I guess on the upside if you have it done and do find it a little painful then once bub is born and you go back for another one it might not be as bad.

Even for a c-sect it would still be helpful, do they shave the top little bit for the incision? I'm so averse to shaving down there, it itches and hurts me! Starting out with a bikini wax sounds good, I'm sure you'll feel "neatened up", and it will give you an idea of how much you can tolerate. I take a little cushion to prop myself up on one side now, laying on my back makes me dizzy, otherwise get them to roll up a towel or something to prop you if you need it :)
I got mine done when pregnant, in Perth summer... and the worst part of the whole thing was the sweating! LOL I was about 38 weeks, huge, fat, soooo hot and just didn't seem to stop sweating. The lovely ladies - there were three of them, must have been a slow news day :rofl: - were commenting how funny it is, that pregnant women often sweat more during the waxing.. I don't know why, or if it is true or they were just making me feel better though... ;)
Really wasn't anymore painful than getting it done not pregnant. Just go for it!!
I am 33 weeks.... Going in for mine tomorrow. I haven't had one yet this pregnancy so I pity the poor lady doing it! I find I sweat more and I get more uncomfortable but it is worth every second.
I have been getting them done for about ten years and tbh I think a lip wax hurts more! The hardest thing is showing someone your hairy hoo haa! Oh the shame! I just tell my self they must have seen worse than mine... Hopefully!! Lol
Remember this is her first!! It hurts less the more you do it!
Ps for me it KILLED during but after was fine. Just had to pat not wipe when I went to the toilet lol!
I agree with this. I had an emerg. c-sect for DD and I had a brazillian done and they didn't need to shave me for surgery.:
Ok... so I'm going to call tomorrow... I'm thinking I will see if I can get a "landing strip" left... I don't think I can handle a full Brazilian at the moment. But do I need to do any pre-wax work? i.e. trim the hairs? I've heard the longer the hair, the more it hurts... and I think it's fair to say I'm currently as natural as they come...
And how long does it take?

No, don't do anything - except wash of course! LOL They will do what they need to, including trim it first if necessary, but if you do it, you can do it too short.
