Re: Your thoughts needed.
Sorry I can't be of any help, but didn't want to go by without offering some hugs.
I hope she feels better soon.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Oh hun. Hugs.
I would take her to hospital. The GPs obviously have no idea and its better to be safe.
I am no doctor but my first thought was that they may have said the childrens hospital because they would be better equipped and better at caring for children. And its not a life/death emergency right now so you have time to get there rather than rush her to your nearest.
I hope shes ok. Poor darling.
I have those times too, where I dont know what to do because it is borderline and I dont know which way to go.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Big hugs for your dd. she sounds miserable :(
I would go to hospital, especially in the absence of you knowing what is wrong. Keep us posted.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
I would take her to hospital too. I hope she recovers quickly xx
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Take her to your local hospital, they can at least diagnose and work out a plan to get her better, if there is a valid reason for the children's hospital then they will tell you why.
Hope she gets better soon xo
Re: Your thoughts needed.
I would be going straight to the children's hospital.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
I'd take her. Maybe to the one south? They are very good I took DD a few weekends back x
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Yeah, take her to hospital.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Still thinking of you, I hope you are all going ok today... xxx
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Hope you are all ok today. What did you decide to do?
It's ok to say you don't know what to do. I'm like that half the time! I have taken the kids to the hospital only to be told that it's all ok and once I didn't take DS when he was little and later on I described the incident to an allergist and he said it was very serious and if it happened again I had to take him to the hospital. Oops!
Hope today is all good xx
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Still at Westmead. They don't know what is wrong with her tongue. They gave her some meds that numb her tongue so she had an iceblock and a sip of juice. They also swabbed it once it was numb. Now we are waiting for a specialists to see her. Thanks for all the thoughts :)
Re: Your thoughts needed.
At least now it is being further investigated.
Keep us posted.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Hope they can figure out what's going on. Thinking of you and your DD
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Keeping everything crossed it's nothing serious xx
Re: Your thoughts needed.
When Liebs was little, I was told by hospital staff that they'd rather see a child who was able to be discharged quickly than have parents too scared to use the hospital in case it was nothing, because that's harder to deal with. So I'd take her in.
Plus, it's worth building up some positive experiences with medical people. You never know when you'll need the bank of "they aren't all evil" memories.
Re: Your thoughts needed.
Glad you went to Westmead. Have a few dr friends near us (northern Sydney) who all recommend making the trip out there if you have a sick kiddo and have time. Hope she's better soon.
