Subbing and stalking, subbing and stalking...
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Sending beautiful birthing vibes your way, lady-bug. What a lovely way to welcome spring!
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Subbing and stalking too Phy!
Was it you that asked what we'd done to set up or kellbell? I thought of something simple that I love to do. I put a mattress protector down then sheets, then a mattress protector then sheets, so if I birth or mess the bed it only needs one layer stripped and I'm straight back into it, no waiting for someone to make it or worse making it yourself :)
Kmart have good cheap waterproof mattress protectors for $7 single and $29 queen :)

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Great idea !
Hubby has been dreaming the baby is born on our bed :-)
In his dream we needed a new bed
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
It's a simple idea but my number one lol
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
My MW this time around told me that sheet trick and it's great! Even though we put down those waterproof hospital cloths when I went to bed after the birth I still managed to bleed a bit on the sheet so it was nice for that to have clean sheets in an instant.
My baby is already over a week old!!
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
No way meow! It just goes too quickly
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Hi everyone... subbing back into this thread!!
I did the same a tegam but instead of mattress protectors I just used wool blankets I bought from the op shops and washed in a hot wash!!! It is soooooo good ripping off the top layer after birth and having fresh sheets!!!
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Oooo, I like this sheet idea. Thank peeps, I shall try to get it done today. I bought a new waterproof mattress protector with all intentions of using it to prevent my waters from leaking onto my mattress. I hadn't thought that far ahead to the post birth part!
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Eeeek hope things are going well for you lady bug
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
I know!! I keep checking in here hoping lady-bug has updated. I bet she has her baby by now :D
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Hello Everyone :)
Its been quite a while since I posted on the BB pages!
I'm happy to share that we're expecting baby #5 and again planning a birth at home. I never thought I would be able to have the much dreamed homebirth but I found a Midwife who is willing to support me despite my history of 2 retained placenta's and PPH's.
I'm 20 weeks now and due in January!
I've been putting the most work I've ever put into a pregnancy with lots of debriefing, visualisations, meditation and birth preparation. I suffered quite a lot of trauma and disappointment with my last birth and wasn't expecting to become pregnant quite so soon. So its given me the opportunity to deal with the issues that I may have been avoiding up until now.
I look forward to preparing for the journey with you all again :)
Many blessings,
Sara
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
Sara.... Have you changed your user name?
Welcome and yay for someone to add to the Homebirth list. It was looking poorly after the September rush. And double yay for number 5, I'm not on my own :) so glad you could find a MW to support you xx
Afm: not enjoying being due later in thè month lol! Just had our first September birth and ladybug is still MIA, I'm getting a bit ready to meet this little one. Trying to remain calm and even minded about waiting longer but knowing one of my 4 was already here and the other 3 were born within the next week is making me impatient. What if I go to term? The pregnancy has been so different what if the delivery is so different?? Ahhhhhhhhh and I don't have the pool yet (the MW forgot it Monday) so I don't really want the baby tonight.... Do I? Lol
Homebirth General Discussion #22
Welcome Ilithyia! Number 5 - wow how lovely!!! Congratulations :) I hope your birth is everything you need and want it to be xxxx
Was it a week ago I posted saying I was feeling great? Today I'm completely over it lol...baby is fully engaged and I'm sore and tired and breastfeeding DS is torturous and I JUST WANT TO MEET THIS BABY!
Tegam - maybe you'll beat me to it!!
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #22
