Hi Kirst
It sounds like things may be starting to happen for you. How far apart are the contractions?
I missed this before. I thought that I'd better go to bed and get some rest - just in case.
Well it's about 3:50am, and I was woken up at about 2:20 with some cramping and contractions. I have been having contractions about every 20 minutes, but nothing painful.
I have been trying to rest, but am also trying to work out if and when to call my parents to come and watch my DD. I don't want to call them and then find out that it's all a big mistake.
So here I am on the computer at almost 4am. If it is all a mistake DD is in daycare tomorrow, so I can sleep, so I'm not too worried about that part of it. I guess I just wait and continue to monitor myself.................
how exciting!!! keep us posted....
Best wishes Kirst with your new arrival!!
From one Kirst to another!! :D GOOD LUCK!!
Sounds like your on your way!! Oh I remember that with me..... then just as I went to bed.... the real ones started!!!
So didnt end up getting ANY sleep from Saturday to monday night!!
GOOD LUCK Kirst

Well I went back to bed, and ended up calling the hospital at about 5:30 just to talk to someone. The midwife told me that it definitley sounded like early stages of labour, but to just rest and look after myself because it could still take a couple of days of just this.
I have been continuing on with my normal Thursday routine, and can understand why women can be in labour and not know it. When you just do what you have to do, you barely even notice the contractions. It's not until I sit down and relax that I'm aware of them.
So I'll keep you posted. Hopefully we will get to meet our bub before the weekend is out. I have an OB appointment tomorrow morning, so I'll see what he says then.
Good luck, my contractins started at 6 mins apart, 32 hours before I gave birth. I know how much it sucks trying to deal with them.
Hope it all happens for you soon:)
How exciting! :D But yes, I know the wait can be long. For me when I had my appt. and the dr did an internal I was 2cm and had a baby by 6:30 the next morning. Maybe if they do an internal that will help speed things up? Good luck!
Krist
try to get as much rest as you can, you are going to be doing some hard work in another day or so
LOL! I figure that Alan. I'm about to go and have a nap.
Thanks.
ooooh Kirst!!!How exciting! Get some rest, let us know how things go.
Best wishes
Well thry're at about 10 minute intervals and getting a bit stronger - nothing too bad though. Bearable. I've called the hospital, and they say to wait unti they're about 5 minutes and then make our way in.
I've called DH to come home sooner rather than later.
I've called mum to get her to come over to watch DD.
At the moment I'm just pottering around, getting my toiletries and magazines together (and of course checking my email) trying ot keep my mind off things. I've had a bit of a hormonal cry, and I think that I'm ready to do this.
Fingers crossed.
Hey Kirst...just wanted to say goodluck!!
Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back
*hugs*
Knowing my luck they'll send me home telling me it was all in my head.
I'm sure they won't... it is all sounding too promising!!
I bet you're just thinking that because it feels like you're bub will never come (I felt that way anyway!!)
I am so excited for you... soon another one of our Belly Buddies will have a story to share(meaning you!)! YEY!
Well I'm still at about 10 minutes apart. So that's about 12 hours at 20 minute intervals and (so far) 7 hours at 10 minutes. Not really painful though, which is what mum said that her labours were like. Maybe there is a hereditary component to labour?
I'm scared to go to bed becasue it wold be quite easy to sleep through these at the moment, and I'm worried that I'll wake up in the middle of the night wanting to push having missed the escalation.
Don't know what to do right now. Just watching Las Vegas and then I'll reassess from there I think.
Kirst
go to bed get some sleep. I promise you will wake up in time and not sleep through the birth
