Tattoo advise please
I really need some advice about some tatts I'm going to be getting in a couple of weeks. I want to get 3 all up (I have 2 already). I wanted to get my husbands name on my ring finger, my kids names and birthdates some where possibly my wrist and also something in memory of my mother on the inside of my ankle cos the outside already has a rose and would like to keep it all to the one leg. From memory the last ankle one didnt hurt that much at all but the one on my back was discusting. Didnt know I had M.S back then either and I have really bad over sensitivity on my back, bum and shoulders area. Anyways was wondering if there is anyone out there that has had thier wrist done and did it hurt and also has anyone else had thier kids names and birth dates done. Also if anyone has any suggestions on what I should have done in memory of my mum (she died last year of a stroke). Was thinking a blue bird cos I heard that means something (cant remember what but will find out before i have it tattooed to my body) with the words "Mum, May you rest in peace" followed by her her birth date and the date she died or maybe just the blue bird and the mum bit with no dates. What does everyone reckon. Any suggestions at all would be good even if its totally different to what I was thinking.

OK, here's my 2c worth....
Your ring finger - don't get it done in black ink, it can look really tacky and fades and wears really quickly because of sun exposure, wear and tear on your hands etc. Friends of ours had theirs done and they had it done in red - it looked fantastic!
For your mum - I'd just get the bluebird with her name or 'mum' but I wouldn't put dates on it.
Your kids names - hmmm, not sure about this. With two kids names and d.o.b it's going to take up some room and I don't know if your wrist will be big enough. What about your shoulder?
I'd love to be able to tell you if it hurts on your wrist but I haven't had mine done yet! Planning to have it done after bub is born and I'm not b/feeding anymore.
Good luck, I hope they turn out just how you want them too. Post some pics for us when they're done!!

Ok I agree with Willow, just get the blue bird with mum and no dates.
With my kids names I've only got my oldest so far and it's on my shoulder and it's a flower with a banner with his first name and with a dragonfly hovering over it. I'm planning on getting my brother to design a rose bush that connects with this rose and add my boys names, plus once I've gotten pg and finished b/fing the next one as well.
I'm not sure were else you could get your tattoo if your back area is very sensitive, sorry.
hugs xoxo

Just so you know, some places wont do the wrist because of the blood vessels and nerve endings that are there.

The blue bird sounds awesome for your mum... and maybe just a MUM under it would be beautiful :)
The wrists would be an owwiee wouldnt it?????
I have always wanted to get one or some but just never got around to it... But I think i might like to in t he near future... glad to see someone else on the BB traps that is!! :D
Good luck with your decision and you will have to show us a pic! :)

My friend just got his done & said on his wrist almost made him pass out! It is a huge job though took over 4hours & is from innerwrist til inner elbow (is that the inner forearm!?) & he said the wrist bit was excruciating!?
I got the symbol for Balinese Hindu's (ongkara) with our 3 kids names arounbd it inbetween my shoulders just last Friday & it was not at all painful, infact just the opposite it was a strange itchy pleasurable exp!???
After I got mine done, a guy covered in tatts on his body sat down to have the wrist part of his sleeve started & said if his first tatt was that painful he'd never have had any done, so I am guessing wrist hurts!???
These were all whilst in Bali, where you can drink in the chair! I ahd mine done at 10am with no alcohol consumed & am exclusively breastfeeding, but was assured it would not affect my feeding & it hasnt...
I am now addicted & getting more done by a Balinese guy who's in Melb ATM, but also some more when next in Bali...
I think I prefer your Mum's name & dates etc...???

Wow so your wrist hurts. Bugger. Maybe I should get my shoulder done. Was thinking about maybe getting the back of my neck done but was worried about the over sensitivity thing. Maybe ill just have to grin and bare it like the one on my back.

Jodie - I'm not to wrapped to hear it hurts either! Mine on my wrist is only going to be small so hopefully I can suffer through it!!
Tracey - I wanna see a pic!!
-
OK I added a pic of it the day it was done, on my site so have a look there!!!
As DH designed it & it has our 3 kids names & on me, it's reall a part of all of us!!!
-
Ok Tracey your tattoo is awesome. Its soooo cool that your DH can come up with stuff like that. How long did it take to do?
-
It took 42mins exactly, as I messaged my best mate when we started & again when finished & there were 42mins between msg's!!! LOL..
That included the kids names having rubbed off & Dh having to write them down on paper again!!!
My Dh is covered in tatts, except his chest!?? I am seriously addicted now & already having my newer ones drawn up this afternoon by DH & a balinese artist that's in town for 3 mths!!! LOL
-
Tracey, it looks awesome!! Is this your first? I thought you already had a few?
It is very addictive! I've only got the one so far, for one reason or another haven't been able to get any more in the last few years but plan to soon.

I have James and Madeleine's names tattooed on me... but I have them with a something that has meaning for the both of them... James' name is under a dolphin because he was always my little water baby and loved dolphins... Madeleines name is under a butterfly, because she used to sit outside and giggle so much at the butterflies when she was little... I am having Harrison's special tattoo put around James one... it will be bubbles, for many reasons... and Harrison will be written above James' dolphin.
My DH and I were going to have our names tattooed on our wedding fingers, but we can't find a tattooist to do them for us... they all so far have told us they won't do it because the ink bleeds into a blur and it makes their work look bad... and most people complain about their ugly, blurred writing.
DH and I are getting Noah's handprints tattooed over our hearts in white... so it is a more personal tattoo that most people won't notice unless we get really tanned.
-
Willow, my hubby is covered in tatts, I have had piercings but not any tatts, just desperate to get one, but wanted to have finished my family first...
So yep def getting more!
-
Tracey I absolutely love it!!!
-
Thanks Hun!!! So do I.... LOL....
How are you & Mr Blake????

Ive only seen one ring finger done and it looked really good and was in black too. I was gonna ring the person that has it done and ask her how it looks now though. I wonder why it runs.
