Wish me luck - scan tomorrow

Tomorrow I have a follow up scan after a threatened miscarriage and an equivocal scan last week. I've been having spotting and cramping for a few weeks now. Last week's scan put me at five weeks two days when I should have been six weeks five days. Hopefully my dates were just out and tomorrow's scan will reveal a six week three day normal pregnancy, and if I'm really lucky, a heart beat.

I can't believe how quickly I've gone from "I can't possibly be pregnant - this is a catastrophe" to "stay, baby, stay!"

Good luck for tomorrow. It's such a traumatic experience when you have a scare. Fingers crossed a scare is all it was.

ARgh.

I've been doing really well keeping it together before this scan today. I've been holding my head together pretty well, trying not to let it get on top of me, worrying about what the result will be.

Just had a phone call.

Radiology admin person: You're booked in for a 2pm appointment. Unfortunately we have a problem with our ultrasound machine and it's not going to be fixed before the end of the day and we're trying to reschedule everyone. Can we rebook you for tomorrow afternoon?

Me: No, I have a work commitment I can't get out of tomorrow. I can do tomorrow morning.

Radiology admin person: We're all booked up tomorrow morning. What about next week?

Me: (Wanting to cry) Do I have to wait that long?

Radiology: How far are you? I'll see what sort of time we have to play with.

Me: I'm about six weeks four days.

Radiology: Oh, so it's just a dating scan then? I thought it was a twelve week scan.

Me: No, I'm waiting to see if I'm miscarrying this baby or not. (In head, "It says threatened miscarriage on the referral".)

Radiology: Oh. (pause) Well, come in at 1.30pm and we'll see if we can fit you in around other patients. It might be quite a wait, though.

Me (in my head screaming, "I thought you said there was a problem with your machine? And what's this about fitting me in around others, I already had an appointment!) Thanks for your help.

I guess I should be just glad I get to have the scan done at all.

awww that really sucks. Look at it this way... i always think if something goes wrong then someone has to go right. So to my understanding, i think ur bub is just fine.
