santa- is he real in your house?

just curious to know if people tell their kids the truth behind christmas/santa in that he isnt real or allow then to enjoy the magic!

i love christmas and love that kids can enjoy some magic in that santa is real!
i cant wait til DD is older to enjoy this special time of year

Absolutely!! I grew up thinking he was real and I think that was part of the Christmas magic for my sister and me. On Christmas Eve we would stay in the same bedroom and try to stay awake all night long to catch a glimpse of the fat man in red - it never happened though.

DS will only be 12 months old but Santa will be very real in our house when he gats older. I cant wait either .....!

Im never telling Aiden he's not :lol: Ill putout cookies and because Im selfless Ill eat them all just so he thinks Santas come... The things we do for our kids :lol:

Cookies? Our santa demanded a bottle of red or some long-necks. I guess he was a lush like our tooth-fairy.

I'm 23 and DH is 28 and we still believe in Santa :D I have written to the big man and asked him for a new mobile phone for Christmas - DH was kind enough to post it for me. ;)

Well i confinced my daughter he was real for 11 years, but now she knows :cry:

It will be hard this year, being the first year she hasn't believed and ds will only be 7 months. I will try to keep the spirit alive though as i can remember how things changed when i found out the truth. :(

DD decides every year what santa has left for him - its funny how he drinks all the beer but not all the milk??!! :rolleyes:

She is starting to get a bit suss - she is 7 now - but I think she is scared of not believing :)

We're very magical in our family at Christmas time - I honestly thought Luke being 10 this year that it would be over... but at this stage, I think he's still hanging in there ;)

My plan was to have more babies before he got old enough to figure it out.. but at this point in time its not to be :(

I think I'll be lucky to get this Christmas in with Santa.. but regardless, we will still 'believe' in this house... I'm a Christmas nutter... so everyone has no choice :lol:

Truth be known, though... everyone likes coming here to celebrate it because of how much effort I put in... and I have nieces & nephews until I get another one of my own, so all is not lost :D

My eldest worked it out last year, but he is under strict orders to never tell his sisters (and now his brother) or all he'll get under the tree is a lump of coal for being a kiljoy ;) LOL I think I was about the same age when I realised, but then I actually busted mum and dad in the act by accident. But then we've always only gotten them 1 present from Santa and the rest is from us.

I got told at the end of grade six because my mum said she couldnt send me to high school still believing. I think I knew from when I was eight or nine, but with two little brothers and the threat of not getting anything for christmas if you dont believe why would you acknowledge it!!

My DF askded his parents when he was five and then was spo upset he asked them to take it back and he believed for another two years ;)

Santa is somewhat real in our house.

Evan isn't silly & last year started to question Santa. We wont lie to him that he is real but we explained to him about the magic of christmas & how santa is a part of that.
I doubt it will be long before he cottons on that its My & DH buying the presents & putting them out.

But for now his own self interests let him belive in santa.

I just went through this "dilemma" recently. My family have always LOVED christmas, the whole putting up the tree, decorating the house, presents and food but then a woman at work was almost in tears about 'lying' to her children and that made me think that I would be lying to my child too. But Christmas is magical and if you want to believe then I say let your imagination run wild. DH says I can explain it DD later so I am more than happy to do that in years to come but will gladly see her little smile and excitement of Santa arriving with presents in the meantime (although Trillian I think the one present is a good idea from Santa).

I seem to always peak too early with the Christmas excitement so by the time it comes around, I am almost over it. We took DD home on xmas eve last year so I am looking forward to really celebrating Christmas this year.

yep he come to our house too... DS is still a believer and I am dreading the day that he stops....


Santa even gave BHL a spud last year DS still laughs about it now and cant wait to see if he get more this year.... ATM the winkies will be getting about 3 spuds so they better improve greatly before the big man arrives....
