Nicknames as full names??
confusing thread title, i know, but i'm just not sure how else to put it.
dh has suggested a new name for bubs, but i feel like it's more of a nickname, or a shortened version of a 'real name' iykwim?
i think these days, you could probably get away with it, but i just wonder what peoples' opinions are on the matter. do you think the kid will always get asked what their real name is...and would find that annoying?
i don't want to give the name away, as i'm not looking for opinions on the actual name- but i guess i'll give an example to explain my position a little better
for eg. if you called your ds Danny- do you think people would automatically assume it wasn't his 'real' name- and that his name was really Daniel?
or if you called a dd Frankie instead of Francesca...
do you think it even matters? or are these kind of shortened names accepted as full names these days?
sorry about the rambling/confusing post....i'm just a little torn. i like the name, but don't always want people asking 'is that their real name? is their real name.......?"
