If you were going to go away for 6 months and only had limited luggage space how many handbags would you take?
Would you believe that this question has been bugging me for days?

Just one - and buy the rest in Paris!
I like your thinking - I'm not sure that DH would agree.
I'd probably take....3??
One standard black number, something a little more casual and something in a print...but that's just me :)
Are you a real handbag person? I'd probably take an everyday one and a dress up one......but all my space would be taken up with shoes, so I'm probably not the best person to ask :)
I'd be taking my red Crumpler backpack, my RedCross fabric sling tote, a large neutral bag in maybe leather for day functions and outings which required a certain degree of tidiness, a small black clutch for formal night events (they tend to go with everything) and a nice medium sized bag in a lighter colour (i would take my cream and white one) if i needed to look presentable in a summer outfit. So for me about 5. the first two aren't really handbags... but this would cover all my daily needs.
I only have one
When I moved to CZ, I took one handbag and one tote. The handbag was small, a fine cord with a mauve and purple embroidered pattern (sounds icky but is really cute and gets lots of comments) The tote was just a neutral colour, good for taking away on weekends.
Served me well.
So, yeah, a handbag you can dress up or down, and a tote. Win.
I would say same as pixie!!! take 1 and buy rest in Paris or even pop to Italy for a weekend to buy some LOL
OH man, you should just be like me and only have the one - and I mean only one handbag period ROFL. I have no idea what you do with so many
Lol i only have one too:redface:, i guess it depends how many you have.. lol:)
LOL don't worry Pony, i understand you ;) I just can't carry a black night time clutch for a day time picnic... or take a large hold-all style bag to a fancy restuarant. It's ok... maybe you can pack them all inside each other, Russian doll style.
I'd only take the one too and buy another there if you need it or see one that you just must have! I hate travelling heavy and after 6 months, if you haven't used those handbags that you have been lugging around, you are going to seriously resent them!! I have been known to get really annoyed at a pair of shoes that were too good to throw away, not really necessary and not worth posting home!
IKWYM about heavy luggage but I can't imagine only one handbag. Maybe I could live with 2 for a while and buy more hehehe
I don't even know how many handbags i have  There was a time i would buy a new one every week. I know that when we moved into our new house i had 2 garbage bags filled with handbags
So i would take a night hand bag and a casual one. And then buy some more :D
I'm not a huuuge handbag person although I do have more than one - mostly hand-me-downs from mum & my sister -
I would take three. One evening clutch (if you expect to be needing one) one basic black or neutral one & one patterned or more interesting one.
Buy the rest if you need them :p
I would take:
My small white cord bag - holds all my ME things and a couple of dinkie cars/Thomas Take-Along toys.
My 25cm-squared cream bag with front pocket. Perfect for a half-day out (or day out if you buy food and don't have nappy worries) with the family.
Large black bag - enough for a small lunch in there.
Small embroidered black bag OR black clutch bag - for going out somewhere smart.
Nappy bag/Hand Luggage bag - perfect if you wanted to nip over to the UK for a night with the boys. Or just needed a lot of stuff that day.
Another day bag - I just like my day bags!
And I'd take a big purse, a tiny coin purse and a card holder seperate, and two smaller purses.
If you're as natty a packer as I am, you'll not take up much space with all of that because they just pack inside each other and fold up nicely. Soft leather and/or fabric bags are the best.
