I'm wanting to get a nose job and want to know how much it cost you, many days you had to stay in hossie (if any) and the degree of pain...

Sometimes I think I'd like a nose job and a bit of a brow lift but then I always think 'nah, I could spend the money on a holiday instead' and that's the end of that.
i can't wait until next weekend for you to tell me off :lol:
yeah i know, but i think a nose job or plastic surgery will last with me for a life time, than just a 1-2 week holiday somewhere.:

Gee what I wouldnt get down if I had the money, so much I would love to fix about my body, but until the winkies are at school and I am working I will have to learn to live with myself just a bit longer...
But I am with the other girls on this one TD you nose is just fine...
my sister has had hers done, I know she wasnt happy with the 1st one so had to go back and get another one, so just be careful who does your nose, if you still end up getting it down...
I mother at the school the winkies go to had hers done not long ago she wasnt around for 2 weeks if thats anything to go by, so dont know if that was coz of the black eyes which I am sure she had or coz of pain...
I think I'd love a nose job too, only thing is I'm scared that I wouldn't like the result - and you can't undo that one!! :lol:
i want one as my nose has a calcium bump and its crookered looks like someones broken it twice and its never been set properly
when i can aford it i will be having it fixed as it annoys me as my glasses sit in the groove and harm the skin i want a normal nose
I'll be watching this thread, I've always wanted a nose job but its at the bottom of my "want" list atm.... (& I dont have the money anyway :lol: )
*sigh* I just asked DH if he would mind if I spent some of our money on surgery. According to him we get old and wrinkly and that's how we roll.

I'm going to see my plastic surgeon on Friday about my boobies (nothing major, just a check up) and will ask him about the price then.
I have a huge end bit on my nose, I would really like to have skin/cartilage removed from the end bit, if that makes any sense. It's big. But then again i have big cheeks, so i don't know how an itty bitty nose would look on a round face with 2 big eyes as well??
I think you are gorgeous TD...and perfectly in proportion - I certainly didn't notice a big bit on the end of your nose!

I haven't seen either of your noses but I bet that you're concentrating on some tiny flaw on your nose that no-one else ever notices.
your right pony! my DH always tells me my nose is just fine as do many others :doh: its just my issue!

... TD, my best friend had her boobs done then about a year later her nose done (less then 2years ago) ... her boobs look awesome but the other surgeon that did her nose i feel awful to admit & say it looks incredibly clear to everyone that don't even know her that she has had a nose job IYKWIM (looks unnatural, a bit ski slop & the cute pinches on the side look very hollywood look) :rolleyes:
Of course i would never admit this to my very much loved friend but seeing she had it done in Melb i could find out the surgeon's name so you ' Don't ' go to him !!!!

i don't think i'd let anyone else touch my nose than my current plastic surgeon, but thanks for the heads up. If you do ever see this friend of yours ask her who she got hers done by and let me know please.
I am so loving the warner weather, the twins are out to play today. I've taken the corset off without my drs approval but it was getting a bit annoying, so i purchased a sports bra as i'm supposed to have done later this week. I am in a low cut dress today with the sports bra on and my boobies look awesome :lol:

My mum had one when i was a teen. A selfish teen (cos there's a different type out there).
I felt she was saying to me "You knnow people always say we look the same? Well you look so crap I need surgery to stop looking like that."
Which is why I won't have anything done at all - if my hypothetical daughter/granddaughter looks like me, I want her to know you don't need surgery to look acceptable. It really scarred me. Probably just me, but I won't take the chance.

I had my nose done when I was 21. I had a bump on the bridge of my nose that really bothered me and I really wanted to have it gone! Everyone told me that my nose was fine, but I really didn't like it and I was the one who had to look at it everyday!
I had it done in South Africa and it was very expensive because I went to a really good doctor. How much is costs in Oz, I have no idea. All I would say is that I would make sure that I went to a crash-hot doctor and would rather pay extra for a really good job! As mentioned in a previous post, I wasn't particularly happy with the result first time around and so had to have a second operation. This is fairly common due to the fact that the swelling takes so long to go down.
Be prepared for a lot of pain, a cast on your face and massive bruising for 2 or more weeks. Then you have to deal with ongoing pain, sensitivity and swelling that you have to squeeze down with your fingers everyday for 6 months. If you don't do this, then the oedema can settle and your nose will stay puffy (forever, apparently!). Also be prepared to wait 1 whole year before ALL of the swelling goes down and you can see the actual end result. You have a pretty good idea by 6 months, though. Also, if you ever wear your sunnies on your head be prepared: if you bend down to pick something up and they fall back down onto your nose, you WILL hit the roof - it is kind of like getting a netball straight in the face on a cold day! You would be amazed at how frequently this happens!!
Be very weary of any doctor suggesting to add cartilage to your nose (a graft). With the swelling I mentioned above, your nose will look great until all of the swelling goes down and then it may look very different! I never had a graft, they just removed bone and cartilage on mine.
Now the downside: any surgery anywhere destroys / affects nerves where the trauma has taken place (they literally take a (albeit surgical) hammer and chisel to the bone). As a result, like me, your nose can become very sensitive. My allergies make my nose run way more than it did before. When it is cold your nose runs more as well. So you may have an improved nose, but when you have to have a constant supply of tissues on hand and have a tissue on it for most of spring, then you have to wonder how attractive it is after all!
I am still not particularly happy with my nose (although it is a vast improvement) and there isn't much more they can do to it now that I have had repeat surgeries. Would I have it done again? I think so. I would, however, have liked to have been told about the (above) long term effects up front. Just remember: everything comes at a price...
I'll post later, I am off to the rally, but yes, it can be more than you are asking for. I have had a second surgery (first at 15, I was teased alot about my nose and it was a huge stress on my life) as a result of being unhappy with the first (alot of tissue grew back on the tip and looked worse) and even now I am not totally happy as my nose tip is still not even - my nose is not straight. As my surgeon said, its hard to operate on the tip because it swells quickly so its hard to judge. I saw a surgeon last week as you are entitled to a revision if it's not right, and I had a meltdown because he had retired and I saw another surgeon in his place (who was probably more sensible I guess, he is also an ENT surgeon and said unlike cosmetic surgeons, they of course are going to strongly favour functioning and structure of the nose - he sees people with sunken noses, can;t breathe properly as they asked for an unrealistic nose and the cosmetic surgeon just goes, yep no problem, I'll do it!) and he suggested no further revisions based on the fact after the first surgery, it gets much, much more difficult, the nose is more like leather inside to operate on, the skin gets thinner meaning that any imperfections stand out more. He didn't think he could make me happy and couldnt even think of a surgeon he could trust to do a brilliant job of it. Because the bone and other parts of the nose is live, it can grow out in some parts - when you run a finger down the bridge of my nose, you can feel two small points. Its not visible unless I scrunch up my nose... but I was so gutted that I just have to be happy with what I have, tip surgery is especially difficult and if you do get surgery, its so hard trying to find someone who will do a brilliant job. They need to be doing lots of rhinoplasties per week, most cosmetic surgeons are all over the shop. Please think hard about this - sounds like you have a beautiful nose anyway.

My cousin and a friend have both had their noses done but both were for deviated septums and this affected their breathing. They both also had huge bumps on their noses.
My cousin looks like an obvious fake as her nose is now too small for her face and as she has gotten older it looks worse. She hates it.
My friend just had hers done a few weeks ago and is still recovering. Hers looks better but her nose is extremely sensitive and she was in a lot of pain. On the upside, she can breath which was the main issue.
Nah, I'd never have my nose done, i don't like my nose as it has no shape but the way I see it, it's not like I have to look at it that much LMAO! I COULD spend heaps of money on a nose, but again, I'd hardly ever see it, so its kind of like whats the point to me. People have different shaped eyes, ears, noses etc. its part of who we are. If we were all the same we'd be BORING.
NOW, boobs on the other hand... I can SEE my boobs, so I'd love to get those pulled up a bit after I finish all my babies LOL!

(yeh, Nai my friend did it also for her breathing problems ... she was so thrilled to breath through her nose properly for the 1st time in all her life, so that was a plus+ :D)
